Job Title:

Designer, Footwear (temporary; full-time)

Based on the specific needs and job requirements, this role will be working out of our Bombas HQ in New York City.
About the Job:

We are looking for a Designer, Footwear to temporarily join our Product Design team. This is a hands-on role across the full design process: concept and sketching, tech packs and PLM, fit and construction details, and the cross-functional coordination that gets a style to market on time. You will pick up adult and youth footwear styles already in motion, holding several seasons in flight at once. You will work alongside an Assistant Designer and partner daily with Merchandising, Planning, Technical Design, and Product Development. Footwear decisions at Bombas draw input from a wide group of stakeholders. This role is responsible for synthesizing that input into clear direction and holding a fixed GTM calendar

Please Note: This role is a temporary assignment of approximately 6 months.
What you'll be responsible for:
  • Footwear Design Ownership & Execution
    • Own footwear design across adult and youth categories for styles in flight, from concept through final order placement, holding each style to its GTM milestones.
    • Make independent design decisions at the pace the calendar requires, so that design capacity is never the source of a delay.
    • Build and manage tech packs and PLM data with precision and delivering them to Technical Design and Product Development.
    • Partner closely with Technical Design and Product Development on fit sessions and construction details.
    • Hold multiple seasons and categories in flight against seasonal calendar milestones.

    Cross-Functional Collaboration & Operational Discipline
    • Filter feedback from Merchandising, Planning, Technical Design, Product Development, and Design leadership into one clear decision, communicate it broadly, and keep cross-departmental decisions moving.
    • Work alongside our Assistant Designer as a day-to-day partner, offering guidance and support.
    • Own tech packs, specs, PLM data, and the associated administrative work directly.
    • Maintain clear documentation and handoffs.
What we'll love about you:
  • You bring precision to tech packs, specs, and PLM data.
  • You manage competing priorities across multiple seasons against hard deadlines.
  • You are hands-on and comfortable owning projects end to end.
  • A team player who is willing and happy to help
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Belief in our mission and understand the importance of giving-back
  • Inquisitive, love to learn, embrace failure, and never give up
  • Comfortable working in an open office environment while staying focused
What you'll love about us:
  • We are a team of smart, interesting, diverse, funny, and loving people.
  • We take the responsibility to make sure you are excited, happy, and find fulfillment in your work very seriously.
  • We believe in giving back to the community and helping those in need, which is why we volunteer as a team regularly.
What you'll bring:
  • 4-6+ years of footwear design experience
  • Experience designing across both adult and kids'/youth footwear, or across multiple concurrent seasons under a hard GTM deadline
  • Demonstrated fluency with tech packs, PLM, and fit/construction
  • Proficiency in Illustrator, sketching and 3D software
