Design Release Engineer- Steering Wheel & Front Airbags
Minimum 5 Years experience in Design Release Engineering Venteon is currently seeking an experienced Design Release to fill a opening with a manufacturing company located in Metro Detroit. The ideal candidates should have a background in design engineering, specifically in steering wheels and/or airbags.
Requirements of the Design Release Engineer - BSME or similar degree
- 8+ years of design release experience in airbags or steering wheels
- Knowledge of NHSTA / FMVSS, NCAP and IIHS requirements
- Experience with DVP&R, DFMEA, GD&T, DFM, DFA, etc.
- Understanding of product and vehicle development cycles and processes

Responsibilities of the Design Release Engineer- Develop functional requirements for each system and component including:
- Steering wheel & Frontal Airbags
- Develop technical requirements for the systems and components in collaboration with internal functions, design studio, engineering and Teir 1 suppliers.
- Lead/Support the design, development, release and certification of the systems and components with product development tools CAE, CAD, BOM, Drawing Release, Software Release, DFMEAs, DVP&Rs, Attribute Validation, Vehicle Testing, Component Testing, and Certification Reporting for all regulatory requirements.
