What You Will Do:
Pratt & Whitney is seeking a highly skilled ModelADBased Tools Design Methods Engineer to accelerate and strengthen the companyADs digital design ecosystem and support enterprise ModelADBased Definition, Manufacturing, and Inspection (MBADDMI) deployment.
This role focuses on maturing current digital tools to productionADreadiness, supporting both development and productionADpart MBD workflows, and ensuring that the digital toolchain meets Quality Management System (QMS) requirements.
This individual will also provide helpADdesk level technical support for deployed tools, coordinate change management, and drive standardization across Engineering and downstream consumers. The ModelADBased Tools team is central to the enterprise initiative to modernize and digitize core engineering processes to improve speed, consistency, and manufacturability.AD
- Mature current modelADbased engineering tools to production readiness and ensure they meet enterprise Quality Management System (QMS) requirements.AD
- Support helpADdesk operations for current and future deployed modelADbased tools, resolving user issues, debugging workflows, and coordinating defect resolution with vendors.AD
- Work closely with the MBADDMI Strategic Lead to develop and implement crossADfunctional strategies for consumption of MBD data elements within native and derivative toolchains.AD
- Perform validation and productionADreadiness assessments of the modelADbased tools ecosystem, ensuring tools support consistent digital product definition for Production parts.AD
- Identify new requirements introduced by MBADDMI deployment for Production hardware and drive updates to tools, standards, and methods.AD
- Create, enforce, and maintain standardization across Engineering, ensuring common usage conventions, modeling practices, and consumption patterns for all supported tools.AD
- Maintain and sustain tools already deployed for developmentADpart definition, ensuring compatibility and alignment as new capabilities and standards evolve.AD
- Develop scalable software stack strategies and contribute to sustainment plans that ensure continuity and compatibility across upstream design and downstream consumption systems.AD
- Evaluate and manage software enhancements (e.g., NX updates, PMI functionality), integrating new capabilities into enterprise tool roadmaps and deployment plans.AD
- Perform consumption testing and data validation for MBD elements across PLM, CAD, CAM, CAI, and MES systems.AD
- Collaborate with software vendors to guide development, debugging, enhancement prioritization, and longADterm tool evolution.AD
- Work with Manufacturing, Operations, Supplier Quality, and Digital Technologies teams to understand their digital maturity and provide debugging, troubleshooting, and adoption support.AD

- Completion of REPM Production Readiness (Gate D) for all modelADbased engineering tools, including full maturity assessments, gap identification, closure plans, and validation that tools meet production requirements for MBADDMI deployment.AD
- Updated and standardized Engineering workflows, methods, and usage conventions for modelADbased tools across both development and production part definition.AD
- HelpADdesk support structure with defined SLAs, triage processes, and escalation paths.AD
- Engineering Standard Work & Training for creation, validation, and consumption of digital product definition using MBADDMI tools.AD
- Tool specification documents, deployment playbooks, and sustainment plans for scalable software solutions.AD
Qualifications You Must Have:
- BachelorADs degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM)AD
- 8+ years of engineering experience, or a Master's degree in a related field and 5+ years of related engineering experience.AD
- Experience with ModelADBased Enterprise, ModelADBased Definition, ModelADBased Manufacturing, and ModelADBased Inspection principles.AD
- Experience with PLM, CAD, CAM, CAI, and MES systems (NX, Teamcenter, Teamcenter Manufacturing, Teamcenter Quality).AD
- Experience maturing engineering software to meet QMS and operational requirements.AD
- HandsADon experience with neutral model formats (STEP, QIF, JT, etc.) and their consumption by downstream systems.AD
- Experience supporting multiADdisciplinary engineering and manufacturing workflows.AD
- The ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. government issued security clearance is required.
Qualifications We Prefer:
- Active Secret Clearance
- Experience with Siemens NX and Teamcenter ecosystem.AD
- Familiarity with Teamcenter Manufacturing, Teamcenter Quality, Solumina/iBaseADT, SAP, or enterprise CAI platforms.AD
- Experience in Agile development or tool deployment frameworks.AD
- Experience providing support or helpADdesk operations for engineering tools.

The salary range for this role is 107,500 USD - 204,500 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels.
