The roleAs a Design Engineer at Superpower, you will shape and build the interfaces through which members understand and manage their health. You will collaborate closely with designers and product engineers to turn complex health information into clear, intuitive experiences, taking ideas from early prototypes through production. This is a hands-on opportunity to combine design judgment with engineering depth and influence how our product looks, feels, and works.
You will work primarily in
React and TypeScript, with ownership of the details that make an experience feel considered: typography, layout, motion, interaction, and performance.
Key Responsibilities- Design and build intuitive interfaces for core member journeys, from understanding health results to navigating ongoing care.
- Collaborate with product, design, and clinical teams to translate complex information into clear, accessible experiences.
- Create interactive prototypes to explore ideas, test assumptions, and help the team choose a direction.
- Build and maintain reusable components and interaction patterns that improve consistency across the product.
- Own interface quality across responsive layouts, loading and error states, accessibility, and performance.
- Work with backend and mobile engineers to integrate real data, ship complete experiences, and improve them through feedback and product usage.
Qualifications- A portfolio of interfaces you have designed and built, demonstrating your personal contribution, technical decisions, and attention to detail.
- Strong experience with React, TypeScript, HTML, CSS, and modern frontend development practices.
- Excellent visual and interaction design judgment, including typography, hierarchy, spacing, and motion.
- The ability to explore ideas in Figma or code, explain your decisions, and work constructively through critique.
- Experience building production interfaces that handle real data, different screen sizes, accessibility needs, and edge cases.
- Demonstrated ability to own work independently from prototype through release, including testing and debugging code developed with AI tools. An interest in healthcare, wellness, or longevity is a strong plus.
