  • Perform voltage drop, cable sizing, ampacity/derating, and raceway fill calculations.
  • Select transformers, panelboards, control panels, breakers, cables, and related equipment.
  • Prepare cable schedules, panel schedules, equipment layouts, wiring diagrams, raceway routing drawings, bills of material, and installation details.
  • Review designs for compliance with NEC, IEEE, IEC, customer specifications, and company standards.
  • Coordinate with Engineering, Project Management, Construction, Procurement, and customers.
  • Review vendor drawings, technical submittals, and RFIs.
  • Support installation, commissioning, troubleshooting, and occasional site visits.

The Opportunity

The Design Engineer - Power Distribution designs and develops low-voltage secondary power distribution systems supporting industrial heat tracing and electrical infrastructure projects. This is a mid-career individual contributor role based in Houston on a hybrid schedule.

In This Role You Will
  • Design low-voltage secondary power distribution systems for industrial projects.
  • Perform voltage drop, cable sizing, ampacity/derating, and raceway fill calculations.
  • Select transformers, panelboards, control panels, breakers, cables, and related equipment.
  • Prepare cable schedules, panel schedules, equipment layouts, wiring diagrams, raceway routing drawings, bills of material, and installation details.
  • Review designs for compliance with NEC, IEEE, IEC, customer specifications, and company standards.
  • Coordinate with Engineering, Project Management, Construction, Procurement, and customers.
  • Review vendor drawings, technical submittals, and RFIs.
  • Support installation, commissioning, troubleshooting, and occasional site visits.
  • Help develop engineering standards, templates, and best practices.

What You'll Bring

Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or related discipline.

Preferred Qualifications
  • Professional Engineer (PE) or Engineer-in-Training (EIT).
  • Heat tracing experience.
  • Experience with Bluebeam, SmartPlant Electrical, ETAP, or Bentley software.
