Description

  • Develop, review, and revise electrical construction drawings.
  • Prepare electrical layouts, shop drawings, installation drawings, and as-built drawings.
  • Review and develop drawings related to:
    • Power distribution systems
    • Conduit and raceway routing
    • Cable tray systems
    • Electrical room and equipment layouts
    • Panels and panel schedules
    • Transformers
    • MCCs
    • UPS systems and associated electrical equipment
    • Lighting and branch circuits
    • Grounding systems
    • Low-voltage and communication systems when required
  • Review electrical one-line diagrams and schematics.
  • Review IFC drawings, specifications, submittals, and engineering documents.
  • Incorporate RFIs, design changes, and field modifications into electrical drawings.
  • Review electrical loads, circuits, breakers, feeders, and equipment requirements.
  • Review conduit routing, conductor sizing, and equipment connections.
  • Identify electrical conflicts and constructability issues before field installation.
  • Develop drawings that can be effectively used by field electricians and supervisors.
  • Perform field verification and provide engineering support based on actual site conditions.
  • Maintain accurate as-built and record drawings.
  • Support material takeoffs and material planning when required.
  • Provide technical support to Project Management and field teams.


Requirements

  • Experience in Electrical Engineering, Electrical Design, or a related field.
  • Strong experience developing and reviewing electrical construction drawings.
  • Strong understanding of electrical power distribution and electrical systems.
  • Ability to read and interpret one-line diagrams, schematics, floor plans, equipment layouts, and specifications.
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD.
  • Knowledge of conduit, cable tray, panels, transformers, MCCs, UPS systems, grounding, and branch circuits.
  • Knowledge of conductor and conduit sizing.
  • Understanding of electrical construction methods and field installation practices.
  • Ability to identify and resolve electrical design and construction issues.
  • Strong attention to detail and drawing accuracy.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with field personnel, Project Management, clients, and engineering teams.

Preferred Qualifications
  • 3+ years of Electrical Engineering or Electrical Design experience.
  • Experience working for an electrical contractor, engineering firm, or industrial construction company.
  • Experience with semiconductor, industrial, manufacturing, data center, or other large-scale construction projects.
  • Knowledge of the National Electrical Code (NEC).
  • Experience developing electrical shop drawings and installation drawings.
  • Advanced AutoCAD experience.
  • Bluebeam Revu experience.
  • Field engineering or electrical construction support experience.
  • Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering or a related field preferred.

Ideal Candidate

We are looking for an Electrical Engineer who understands how electrical systems are actually installed in the field, not only how they are represented on engineering drawings.

The ideal candidate should be able to review electrical designs, identify potential installation problems, develop practical solutions based on field conditions, and produce accurate drawings that Superintendents, Foremen, and Electricians can use for construction.

Experience supporting large industrial or semiconductor construction projects is highly preferred.
