What we offer
The Design Coordination Lead plays a key role in turning complex building designs into coordinated, manufacturable solutions. Working at the intersection of design, engineering, BIM, and manufacturing, this role leads multidisciplinary model coordination, identifies and resolves conflicts before they become downstream issues, and brings the right technical experts together to make informed decisions. It's an opportunity for an experienced project leader to apply strong technical judgment and building knowledge in an environment where effective coordination has a direct impact on how projects are ultimately manufactured and built. The ideal candidate has strong technical judgment and meaningful coordination leadership experience.
What you'll do
- Lead multidisciplinary BIM coordination and clash detection, with a particular focus on the integration of architectural, structural, mechanical, electrical, and other project models.
- Review identified clashes, assess their technical implications, and determine the appropriate path to resolution.
- Establish ownership of coordination issues by determining where changes are required.
- Work collaboratively with BIM modelers, engineers, project teams, and manufacturing stakeholders to develop practical, technically sound solutions.
- Drive coordination issues through to resolution, ensuring agreed-upon changes are accurately incorporated into project models and documentation.
- Apply knowledge of building structures, systems, codes, and standards to identify potential design and constructability issues.
- Facilitate coordination meetings and technical discussions, clearly documenting decisions, responsibilities, and required follow-up.
- Provide leadership and direction across multiple disciplines, balancing technical requirements, project priorities, manufacturing considerations, and timelines.
- Identify coordination risks early in the project lifecycle and proactively engage the appropriate stakeholders to address them.
- Support continuous improvement of BIM coordination practices and workflows, helping strengthen collaboration between design, engineering, and manufacturing teams.
- Other duties as assigned.
What you bring
- Post-secondary degree in Architecture, Engineering, or related field, or an equivalent combination of education and experience
- 5+ years of relevant experience, including demonstrated success leading complex projects as a Project Manager or in a comparable project leadership capacity.
- Demonstrated experience coordinating and leading multidisciplinary teams and complex project stakeholders.
- Strong knowledge of building structures, building systems, applicable codes, and industry standards.
- Strong technical judgment and demonstrated ability to evaluate complex coordination issues and drive them toward practical solutions.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder-management skills, with the ability to facilitate decisions among professionals with different technical perspectives and priorities.
- Experience working in BIM-enabled project environments and familiarity with multidisciplinary model coordination.
- Strong proficiency with Revit and Forma.
Bonus points
- Previous exposure to advanced manufacturing, panelization, and modular methods of construction
