Full Job Description
Zachary Piper Solutions is seeking a Deputy Project Leader (Telecommunications) to support a company focused on the build out of various data centers in the great Charlotte region. This position is on-site at Charleston, SC. This is a direct-hire opportunity supporting a national leader in secure, resilient power and technology systems. The Deputy Project Leader (DPL) will support the full lifecycle execution of telecommunications projects, with a focus on estimating, scheduling, and financial management. This role plays a critical part in delivering mission-critical data center infrastructure that supports secure government operations.

Responsibilities for the Deputy Project Leader include:
  • Support projects from bid through closeout, including estimating, scheduling, and execution oversight
  • Develop and manage project schedules using CPM methodology in Primavera P6 or Microsoft Project
  • Build detailed cost estimates including labor, materials, subcontractors, travel, and equipment
  • Track and manage project financials, including budgeting, forecasting, and cost control
  • Coordinate with internal teams and clients to ensure on-time, on-budget delivery of telecom infrastructure projects

Required Qualifications for the Deputy Project Leader include:
  • 3-5 years of experience managing telecommunications or low-voltage infrastructure projects ($500K-$10M+)
  • Experience with Primavera P6, Microsoft Project, and Excel for scheduling and financial tracking
  • Strong knowledge of telecommunications systems (fiber optics, structured cabling, CCTV, OSP/ISP, DAS)
  • Bachelor's degree in a related field (or equivalent work experience)


Compensation for the Deputy Project Leader include:
  • Salary Range: $90,000 - $125,000 depending on experience
  • Full Benefits Package: PTO, Paid Holidays, Medical, Dental, Vision, 401K, Tuition Reimbursement, Sick leave as required by law
