Opportunity OverviewLead the Solution Architecture - API team within the Edward Jones Architecture organization. This role directly leads a team of Solution Architects who support the design and development of new technology platforms and strategic firm initiatives, and is responsible for defining and building the solution architecture that supports the product roadmap.
You'll lead architects to design and oversee platform development, integrate with core Edward Jones domains, and enable new digital channels and client experiences across the Canada, Operations, Client Service Excellence, API, and Data portfolios.
This is a role that puts your fingerprint on how the firm builds software. You'll define architectural best practices and build the scale and efficiency that enable future business growth. We're looking for a highly motivated and experienced Architecture Leader whose pride of ownership shows up in clean architectural design, code quality, and a disciplined software development approach.
What You'll Do:- Plans, directs, and manages the activities for a department of associates/contractors responsible for architectural design, development, and implementation.
- Establish and maintain effective communications and relationships across countries, departments, business areas, and vendors.
- Align department activities and responsibilities with the firm's strategic direction.
- Develop and execute on-going improvements to all processes related to department as well as divisional opportunities
- Ensure prudent use of the firm's financial resources.
- Provide leadership, development, and mentoring to Solution Architects through examples and timely feedback.
- Develop successors for key positions for their department
Position Requirements- Bachelor's degree preferred or equivalent experience.
- 7+ years of Information Systems/technology experience, including 3+ years in a leadership role preferred.
- Strong knowledge of systems, processes, and technologies.
- Proven ability to lead teams, develop talent, and influence others.
- Process-driven with experience establishing plans, metrics, and tracking results.
- Able to align team objectives with organizational strategy.
- Strong communication, relationship-building, and stakeholder management skills.
- Committed to continuous self-development and leadership growth.
Candidates that live within a commutable distance from our Tempe, AZ and St. Louis, MO home office locations are expected to work in the office four days per week.
People Leaders are expected to maintain strong leadership visibility, collaboration, and connection across the firm. For People Leaders who choose to reside outside a commutable distance from a campus location, the role requires regular travel to support these expectations. This role will require presence at a home office campus, or other firm-related travel, for one full week per month. Note: For travel purposes, a "full week" is defined as a minimum of four consecutive days on campus.
