Position Overview:

As a Software Developer at this firm, you will be working on challenging problems that span the entire stack; from high performance distributed backend servers to rich, interactive, frontend web applications.

We are seeking a strong engineer/developer who can design and build our visual data exploration application used to analyze and understand portfolio performance in research and client-facing settings. This person will be responsible for the development and deployment of a modern, interactive and analytical browser- based application using JavaScript, D3(D3.js) and Python. This is a hands on, full-stack developer role with lots of growth and learning opportunities. The Software Developer will be part of our Portfolio Analytics team. Investment knowledge is not required, but the desire to learn and take an interest in the data is.
Responsibilities:

  • Design and develop software systems for sophisticated web based analytical and visualization applications using JavaScript and Python. These applications will be used to articulate investment performance.
  • Increase efficiency of handling large data sets.
  • Design and develop automated work flow applications.
  • Must love the data as much as the visualation of the data

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree (with a strong academic record) in a quantitative field such mathematics, computer science, statistics, physics, engineering, or similar discipline is required.
  • 3+ years of software development
  • 1+ years of experience using JavaScript.
  • Ability to work independently and thrive in a fast-paced environment while being part of a collaborative team.
  • Demonstrate knowledge of statistical concepts and the ability to work with large data sets.
  • Strong analytic and creative problem-solving skills.
