SummaryApplies statistical analysis, data mining and machine learning to human performance, behavioral health and readiness data to produce insights, forecasts and decision-support products for the POTFF enterprise.
Responsibilities- Analyze structured and unstructured data using exploratory, statistical and machine-learning techniques.
- Query, clean and prepare data from HPDMS and other government-approved sources.
- Develop and validate predictive models for operator readiness, injury risk and program efficacy.
- Support NLP use cases on clinical or survey text within government-approved tools and datasets only.
- Build Power BI dashboards and executive reports; automate monthly and quarterly reporting.
- Support efficacy and ROI analyses of POTFF interventions.
- Document methods for reproducibility; brief non-technical leadership.
- Maintain DoW IL5, HIPAA and Privacy Act controls.
Qualifications- Bachelor's degree in a quantitative discipline (statistics, biostatistics, mathematics, data science, operations research, computer science, engineering, epidemiology, etc., or a behavioral science with a quantitative-methods concentration).
- Proficiency in Python or R, and SQL.
- Working knowledge of applied statistics and supervised/unsupervised machine learning.
- Visual analytics experience (Power BI preferred).
- Desired, not required: Databricks/PySpark, NLP/LLM familiarity, Power Platform, Palantir Foundry, human performance or clinical data experience.
Required Minimum ExperienceMinimum 1 year applying data science or statistical methods; documented internship, capstone or project work in a bachelor's program satisfies this.
Additional Requirements- Proficiency with Microsoft Office.
- Document all encounters in HPDMS per USSOCOM Directive 10-12.
- For embedded field positions, where the task order requires: meet SOF training physical demands (hiking rough terrain, austere environments, aircraft and watercraft) and lift up to 25 kg.
- Maintain 100% compliance with local mandatory command training.
