Full Job Description
The Data Migration Specialist is responsible for planning, executing, validating, and optimizing customer data migrations as part of enterprise EvenUp implementations. This role ensures that historical and active legal data is accurately, securely, and efficiently migrated into the EvenUp platform to support successful go-lives and long-term customer adoption.

Working closely with Solution Architects, Technical Program Managers, Product, and Customer Success teams, you will translate complex legacy data structures into scalable, compliant data models aligned with EvenUp's platform and legal operations best practices.

This is a remote role that can be based anywhere in the United States.

What you'll do:
  • Partner with Solution Architects during post-sale discovery to assess source systems (CRMs, spreadsheets), analyze legacy data structures and mappings, and advise customers on data cleanup and remediation strategies.
  • Design detailed source-to-target data mappings, transformation rules, and validation logic that align with EvenUp's data models and support future-state processes and analytics.
  • Build, execute, and manage data migrations using ETL tools, scripts, APIs, or database utilities, including performing trial migrations and final cutovers while ensuring data security and compliance.
  • Develop and execute comprehensive data validation plans to confirm integrity, support User Acceptance Testing (UAT) with customers, and provide post-migration stabilization and troubleshooting.
  • Document migration plans and results while contributing to internal standards, tooling improvements, and feedback loops with Product and Engineering to enhance migration scalability.

What we look for:
  • 3 to 8 years of experience in data migration, data engineering, or technical implementation within enterprise SaaS environments, ideally migrating complex datasets from legacy systems to cloud platforms.
  • Strong technical proficiency in SQL, relational data modeling, ETL processes, scripting languages (e.g., Python), and API-based data transfers.
  • Experience working in regulated industries (legal, financial services, or healthcare) with a solid understanding of data governance, security, and compliance.
  • A highly detail-oriented problem solver who thrives in fast-paced, customer-facing environments and can effectively communicate technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Data Engineering, or a related field; bonus points for experience with legal case management systems.

  • A local in-person meet-up program.
