Become a Data Engineering, Senior Manager at Southern California Edison (SCE) and build a better tomorrow. In this leadership role, you will be responsible for setting the strategic direction and execution of data engineering solutions that enable data-driven decision-making across Transmission & Distribution (T&D). You will lead a team of data engineers and analytics professionals in designing, developing, and maintaining scalable data platforms, integration pipelines, and enterprise data products that support operational, financial, performance and strategic objectives. As a Senior Manager, you will oversee the development of modern data architectures and cloud-based analytics solutions leveraging technologies such as Python, SQL, Snowflake, and low-code platforms including Palantir Foundry. You will drive data governance, data quality, and best practices for managing large and complex datasets while ensuring reliable, secure, and efficient delivery of business-critical data assets. Additionally, you will partner closely with operational leaders, technology teams, and executive stakeholders to identify opportunities, prioritize investments, and deliver innovative solutions that improve performance, increase efficiency, and unlock business value.

Responsibilities

• Establishes departmental objectives and leads the strategic direction for data engineering to support enterprise-wide data initiatives and business transformation.
• Manages the activities of the data engineering department through subordinate managers, ensuring delivery of scalable, secure, and high-performing data platforms and pipelines.
• Defines and implements standards, processes, and operational plans that align with business strategy and enable consistent, high-quality data delivery.
• Develops and manages departmental budgets, staffing plans, and performance metrics to ensure efficient use of resources and achievement of goals.
• Collaborates with senior leaders across data, IT, and business functions to prioritize initiatives, align architecture decisions, and deliver integrated data solutions.
• Oversees the implementation of data governance, metadata management, and data quality frameworks to ensure compliance, trust, and reusability of data assets.
• Contributes to the development and execution of company-wide data policies and programs, ensuring alignment with enterprise objectives and technology strategy.
• A material job duty of all positions within the Company is ensuring the protection of all its physical, financial and cybersecurity assets, and properly accessing and managing private customer data, proprietary information, confidential medical records, and other types of highly sensitive information and data with the highest standards of conduct and integrity.

Minimum Qualifications

• Five or more years of experience supervising a team of direct reports and/or project management.
• Experience with data processing large data sets hands-on with data transformation aggregation and filtering.

Preferred Qualifications

• Proven experience leading data engineering, analytics, or data platform teams, including responsibility for strategy, delivery execution, resource planning, and talent development.
• Demonstrated experience overseeing the design, development, and maintenance of enterprise data integration solutions, APIs, and ETL/ELT pipelines using technologies such as Python, SQL, Apache Airflow, Azure Data Factory, Databricks, or similar platforms.
• Advanced knowledge of modern cloud data ecosystems, including platforms such as Palantir Foundry, Snowflake, AWS, Microsoft Azure, or equivalent enterprise analytics environments.
• Experience establishing and governing enterprise data architecture, data management standards, and best practices for scalability, security, quality, and operational excellence.
• Proven ability to influence executive leadership, communicate technical concepts to non-technical audiences, and translate business needs into scalable technology solutions.
• Experience working within the electric utility, energy, infrastructure, asset management, or capital planning industries

Additional Information

• This position's work mode is hybrid. The employee will report to an SCE facility for a set number of days with the option to work remotely on the remaining days. Unless otherwise noted, employees are required to work and reside in the state of California. Further details of this work mode will be discussed at the interview stage. The work mode can be changed based on business needs.
