Job Description:OneOncology is seeking a Data Engineer to design and build scalable software and data platforms that support the organization's business intelligence capabilities. This hands-on role works closely with IT management, development teams, technical delivery teams, and vendors to support the successful design, development, and delivery of technology-based solutions. The Data Engineer must be comfortable working independently in an agile environment while collaborating effectively across teams.
This is a full-time remote position open to candidates located anywhere within the United States. Team members based in the Nashville, TN area have the option to work from our headquarters office on a hybrid basis.
Responsibilities:- Design robust, componentized, and adaptable processes to scale the business intelligence platform.
- Evaluate big data and cloud technologies, quickly develop proficiency with relevant tools, and provide analysis and recommendations.
- Understand and break down requirements into discrete tasks and actionable steps.
- Develop and deliver high-quality code consistently and efficiently.
- Identify inefficiencies in code or processes and recommend practical solutions.
- Adapt quickly to changing requirements and priorities.
- Own developed code and clearly communicate its functionality and design to the team.
- Additional responsibilities as assigned to help drive our mission of improving the lives of everyone living with cancer.
Qualifications: Required: - 5+ years of experience using SQL.
- 3+ years of experience using Python.
- 5+ years of experience using databases or data tools, with a strong understanding of data modeling.
- Significant hands-on experience delivering solutions in cloud infrastructure.
- Experience with data integration/ETL processes and tools such as Azure Data Factory.
Preferred: - Experience delivering solutions in Microsoft Azure.
- Experience with Databricks, Spark, and Delta tables.
- Experience with lakehouse and medallion architectures.
Essential Competencies: - Strong understanding of object-oriented design principles.
- Ability to design and build robust, scalable data pipelines.
- Knowledge of instrumentation, logging, and alerting methods and best practices.
- Proactive approach to problem solving with a strong ability to troubleshoot complex issues.
- Ability to translate requirements into discrete tasks and actionable technical solutions.
- Ability to adapt quickly to changing requirements and priorities.
- Strong ownership, accountability, and ability to communicate technical concepts effectively to team members and stakeholders.
