Job Summary
We are seeking a hands-on Data Engineer / AI Engineer with 5-8+ years of software engineering experience and recent experience in Machine Learning, Data Science, AI, or Generative AI. The ideal candidate will combine strong software engineering and coding fundamentals with practical experience deploying AI solutions, implementing AI agents, and building agentic workflows within production software platforms. This role focuses on hands-on engineering, including working with existing platforms and codebases, contributing to software development, maintaining legacy components, and introducing modern AI capabilities and intelligent automation.
Key Responsibilities
• Design, develop, and maintain production software and data solutions.
• Build and deploy AI-powered solutions into existing enterprise platforms.
• Develop and integrate AI agents and agentic workflows into production applications.
• Use Python primarily for modern development and AI/ML solutions.
• Support and maintain existing Perl-based legacy applications.
• Understand existing application architecture and contribute effectively to the current codebase.
• Develop scalable, reliable, and maintainable software components.
• Collaborate with data scientists, AI engineers, software engineers, and other technical teams.
• Translate AI/ML capabilities into practical, production-ready applications.
• Troubleshoot existing systems and improve application performance, reliability, and maintainability.
• Participate throughout the development lifecycle, from coding and integration through deployment and production support.
Required Qualifications
• 5-8+ years of software engineering or development experience.
• Recent hands-on experience in Machine Learning, Data Science, AI, or Generative AI.
• Strong Python development experience.
• Some experience with Perl, including limited exposure, particularly in maintaining or supporting legacy Perl applications.
• Hands-on experience deploying AI solutions into production.
• Experience implementing AI agents, Agentic AI, or agentic workflows.
• Strong software engineering fundamentals, including clean coding, debugging, testing, integration, and production support.
• Ability to work hands-on within an existing enterprise application or platform rather than focusing solely on architecture or strategy.
• Strong problem-solving and communication skills.
