Full Job Description
The Role

Nimble Brain turns real-world operational data into the training sets, evaluations, and feedback loops that make our robots smarter every day. That data comes from our data collection sites: teams of skilled operators performing and recording the physical tasks our superhumanoids learn from, shift after shift, at high volume and high quality.

We're looking for Data Collection Supervisors to lead from the front of that work. You'll own a shift: a pod of roughly 8-12 operators whose output, attendance, quality, and morale are yours for the hours you run the floor. This is a player-coach role - close enough to the work to demonstrate it, accountable enough to coach it, and the first line of leadership every operator experiences.

Success looks like a shift that runs itself well: operators who know exactly what "good" looks like, quality feedback turned into coaching within a day, rigs handed off clean between shifts, and people who show up because the floor is a place they want to be.

Responsibilities

  • Run your shift end to end: coverage, attendance, breaks, task assignments, and clean handoffs to the next shift.
  • Coach operators against quality scorecards within 24 hours of receiving them - side-by-side on the floor, not over email - and run re-certifications when someone drifts below the bar.
  • Deliver onboarding training reps that get new operators to the certification bar quickly, and give honest pass/fail input on working interviews and ramp cohorts.
  • Own first-line performance management: recognize strong work daily, address issues directly, and escalate to your Data Collection Manager when a pattern needs more than coaching.
  • Coordinate with on-site technicians to keep rigs running - triage issues fast, minimize downtime, and log what broke and why.
  • Report your shift's numbers daily: accepted episodes per operator-hour, rig uptime, attendance, and blockers.
  • Enforce safety and data-handling procedures without exception.
  • Feed what you learn upward: shift-level fixes that work become site playbook, and site playbook becomes how we launch the next location.

Qualifications

  • 2+ years leading frontline hourly teams - as a shift lead, line lead, crew lead, or supervisor - in warehouse, fulfillment, manufacturing, production, food service at scale, or comparable hands-on operations.
  • Experience coaching people to a measurable standard, and evidence you've made individuals visibly better at their jobs.
  • Comfort with direct performance conversations - early, specific, and in person.
  • Reliability that sets the tone: your team's attendance culture starts with yours, and shift flexibility (including evenings) is part of the job.
  • Sharp attention to detail - this is precision work, and small deviations compound into bad training data.
  • Able to work in person at your assigned collection site.
  • Alignment with Nimble's values: relentlessly resourceful, humble, dependable, and committed to legendary impact.

Additional Requirements

  • Experience in robotics, AV, motion capture, or AI data collection - or any environment where quality was measured per unit of work.
  • Experience training new hires at volume during a ramp or launch.
  • A path from individual contributor to leadership - we especially value supervisors who earned the role from the floor.
  • Multi-shift environment experience.

Compensation

The pay range for this position at the start of employment is expected to be between $95,000 and $105,000/year. Your exact offer may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, including job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. In addition to cash compensation, this position will also receive generous equity for this position.

Culture:

We embrace challenges and strive to make the impossible possible each day. We're not in this to do what's easy or to be mediocre. We want to create something legendary and leave our mark on the world. We're ambitious, we're gritty, we're humble and we're relentlessly resourceful in pursuit of our goals. If this sounds like you then you might be a great fit!
