HDR is currently seeking a Site Civil Engineering CAD Lead for our Building Engineering Services (BES) Business Group located in Denver, CO. The BES team is an integrated facility and infrastructure design team consisting of core services of Mechanical, Electrical, Plumbing, Structural, Controls, and Site Civil Engineering. This person will support the design of facility related sites for Mission Critical buildings and infrastructure. They will be expected to coordinate and work closely with a multidiscipline design team throughout the entire life cycle of projects from planning stages, through the development of construction documents, and construction administration. Experience in land development and the design of building related site civil (grading, utilities, storm drainage, stormwater management, and erosion control) is required. This individual should be self-motivated, collaborative, and possess strong leadership skills with an initiative to deliver high quality, technically sound designs.
In the role of Site Civil CAD Coordinator, we'll count on you to:
34 Provide direction for the site civil team, along with managing the digital model environment and deliverables at the project level
34 Possess an advanced understanding of how all disciplines interact and construction documents are produced
34 Work directly with the Model Manager to assist in generating and maintaining the Digital Delivery Plan (DDP) and project initiation procedure, establishing the server infrastructure, discipline models, and digital deliverables outlined in the project scope
34 Support production teams throughout the complete lifecycle of projects through tasks, such as: sharing coordinates, merging CAD and Revit models, establishing client standard protocols, and unifying titleblock and other sheet standards
34 Provide technical support to the site civil team in aspects, such as: grading practices, pipe networks, layer standards, and workflow efficiencies
34 Take ownership of production tasks, such as: viewport and sheet setup, importing standards, and sheet set manager initiation
34 To maintain quality, this individual will monitor the model health and coordination processes of the project, from the planning phase through construction documents
34 Execute tasks independently and also mentor and provide guidance to other team members
34 Monitor and oversee the establishment of the document management system and help maintain the server infrastructure for multi-discipline projects
34 Ensure the team has the appropriate software, versions, access, and training needed to execute the project requirements
34 Monitor and maintain company standards and model health
34 Participate in Digital Delivery coordination meetings with the Digital Design team to ensure optimal quality control through Design Reviews and 3D Coordination processes
34 Communicate, coordinate, and compile all project digital deliverables and exchange process at predetermined milestones
34 Project archiving at submittals and closeout
34 Mentor staff to help develop their skillsets
34 Provide guidance for Project Managers to support project needs
34 Engage with other Digital Delivery Leads to provide support and guidance
Preferred Qualifications
34 History of a commitment to technical excellence
34 Previous experience with teaching/guiding junior staff
34 Working knowledge of modeling software such as Hydraflow Storm Sewers, Hydraflow Hydrographs, HydroCAD, Bentley StormCAD or similar software
34 Previous experience with an architectural/engineering firm
34 Preference given to local candidates
Qualifications

34 Technical degree or a combination of education and relevant experience
34 A minimum of 5 years digital design (BIM element authoring) and 3 years digital delivery (model management) experience
34 Comprehensive understanding of all discipline relations and operations of building systems
34 Advanced skillset of 3D design software and document management infrastructure
34 Advanced skillset of 3D Coordination tools
34 Advanced skillset of Microsoft Office products and communication tools
34 Familiar with industry standards and practices, along with discipline codes and specifications
34 Familiar with basic automation and programming applications for efficiencies
34 Familiar with 3D design software add-ins and supporting applications
34 Familiar with content creation and management concepts
34 Superior client service, communication, and presentation skills are essential
34 Demonstrate strong analytical and problem-solving skills to effectively serve as a first line of technical support
