Full Job Description
We are seeking an experienced Manager, DC Facilities: Assess, Engineer & Design to lead data centre facilities assessments, engineering design, and rationalisation programmes for large enterprise clients. This is a hands-on technical role for someone who understands the physical layer of enterprise infrastructure in depth - from power and cooling architecture through white-space planning, cabling design, and structured cabling standards - and who can translate that engineering expertise into facility assessments, consolidation plans, exit strategies, and sustainability roadmaps. You will work across active data centre environments, bridging the physical and IT infrastructure worlds to help clients make informed, financially grounded decisions about their facilities estate. The Work: • Conduct data centre facilities assessments - evaluating power infrastructure, cooling systems, white-space utilisation, cabling, physical security, and overall facility condition against current standards and client requirements • Design and engineer power and cooling solutions - including UPS topology, PDU configuration, generator capacity, CRAC/CRAH and in-row cooling layouts, airflow management, and hot/cold aisle containment for new-build, expansion, and refurbishment projects • Develop white-space and cabling designs - producing rack layout plans, cable pathway designs, structured cabling specifications, and capacity models that optimise usable space and support operational maintainability • Lead consolidation and exit planning - assessing workload footprints, sequencing decommissioning activity, managing equipment disposition, and coordinating the physical migration of infrastructure as part of broader data centre exit programmes • Develop sustainability plans - assessing PUE, carbon footprint, and energy efficiency across the facilities estate; designing improvement roadmaps aligned to client sustainability targets and emerging regulatory requirements • Produce technical documentation and client deliverables - assessment reports, engineering design packages, as-built documentation, and facilities roadmaps with sufficient rigour and clarity for both technical and executive audiences • Collaborate with IT infrastructure and programme teams - ensuring facilities designs and constraints are fully integrated with server, network, and storage deployment plans, and that physical infrastructure readiness is not the critical path risk in broader transformation programmes Travel may be required for this role. The amount of travel will vary from 25% to 100% depending on business need and client requirements. Required Qualifications: • Minimum 7+ years of experience in data centre facilities engineering, design, or operations - with hands-on technical depth across power, cooling, white-space, and cabling disciplines • Minimum 5+ years of experience conducting data centre facility assessments and producing engineering design packages - including as-built surveys, gap analyses, and facilities condition reports • Minimum 5+ years of experience in data centre consolidation, exit, or migration programmes - including decommissioning sequencing, equipment disposition planning, and coordination with IT workload migration teams • Minimum 2+ years of experience data centre sustainability metrics - PUE measurement, energy efficiency baselines, and the key levers for carbon and energy reduction in facilities design • Bachelor's degree or equivalent (minimum 12 years) work experience. (If Associate's Degree, must have minimum 6 years work experience) Bonus Points If: • Uptime Institute Accredited Tier Designer (ATD) or equivalent data centre facilities design accreditation • Engineering background (electrical, mechanical, or building services) - a formal engineering qualification or equivalent practical depth in M&E systems is a strong signal for this position • Experience with CAD or specialist data centre design tooling (AutoCAD, Revit, or DCIM platforms) for producing rack layout drawings, floor plans, and cable design documentation • Sector experience in financial services, colocation, public sector, or large enterprise environments where data centre facilities work intersects with complex lease structures, change control, and regulatory requirements Skills: • Power Engineering: UPS topologies (N, N+1, 2N) and battery sizing, MV/LV switchgear distribution, PDU design, and dual-utility/generator systems for Tier III/IV facilities. • Cooling & Thermal Management: CRAC/CRAH and liquid cooling for high-density compute, hot/cold aisle containment airflow optimization, and kW/rack thermal capacity planning. • White-Space & Cabling Design: Floor layout and weight-loading optimization, TIA-942/EN 50600 structured cabling standards (copper/fiber), and DCIM platform asset tracking (Nlyte, Sunbird, Vertiv). • Consolidation, Exit & Sustainability: Physical asset decommissioning and site reinstatement, PUE energy efficiency and ESG carbon reporting, and Uptime Institute Tier compliance frameworks. Compensation at Accenture varies depending on a wide array of factors, which may include but are not limited to the specific office location, role, skill set, and level of experience. As required by local law, Accenture provides a reasonable range of compensation for roles that may be hired as set forth below. We anticipate this job posting will be posted until 09/29/2026. Accenture offers a market competitive suite of benefits including medical, dental, vision, life, and long-term disability coverage, a 401(k) plan, bonus opportunities, paid holidays, and paid time off.
