Job Description

The Senior Data Architect is responsible for the design and implementation of database architecture, design and analysis, migration, and security.

What You Will Do:
  • Develop strategies for data acquisitions, archive recovery, and implementation of a database.
  • Design and build relational databases.
  • Design conceptual and logical data models and flowcharts.
  • Design and develop Databases, Data Warehouses, and Multidimensional Databases.
  • Design and develop a strategy for Data Archiving.
  • Develop database solutions to store and retrieve information.
  • Migrate data from legacy systems to new solutions.
  • Provide operational support for Management Information System (MIS)
  • Develops database solutions by designing the proposed system, defining the database's physical structure and functional capabilities, and security, backup, and recovery specifications.
  • Provides database support by coding utilities, responding to user questions, and resolving problems.

What You Will Need:

Education and Experience
  • Typically requires a bachelor's degree or recognized equivalent, from an accredited university, in a data processing discipline or equivalent industry experience.
  • Typically requires 10 years of experience in database design and analysis, including 6 years of experience in Oracle 11g or above.
  • Hands-on experience with ETL technologies. IBM info sphere DataStage knowledge is a plus.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
  • Experience in Enterprise Database development with at least 3 years of database design experience.
  • Possesses a deep understanding of tools used in the Software Development Lifecycle (SDLC).
  • Experience in Oracle 11g or above.
  • Well-versed in designing and implementing Data Marts, Multi Data Models, Star, and Snowflake Schemas.
  • Proficient in a programming language such as PL/SQL code.
  • Demonstrated ability to work well with others.
  • Proven capability to train employees in technically complex areas.
  • Proactive, energetic self-starter with good problem-solving skills.
  • Prior experience with Oracle DBA and knowledge of AGILE development principles is preferred.
  • Ability to develop a working knowledge of ABS Rules, Guides, statutory regulations, and related instructions, as well as the ABS Employee Safety Policy.

Reporting Relationships:

This position reports to a Manager, Director, or Executive level position.
