Full Job Description
Data Architect

Lantern is seeking an experienced, client-facing Data Architect to lead enterprise data strategy, architecture, and delivery across Azure Databricks, Microsoft Fabric, Power BI, and Azure.

You will advise business and technology leaders, modernize legacy platforms, and build secure, governed foundations for analytics, machine learning, generative AI, and intelligent applications.
Key Responsibilities
  • Lead client assessments, architecture workshops, modernization strategies, and delivery roadmaps.
  • Design secure, scalable lakehouse, warehouse, batch, streaming, and real-time solutions using Databricks, Fabric, Power BI, and Azure.
  • Define data integration, modeling, governance, quality, metadata, lineage, observability, security, and cost-management standards.
  • Establish semantic models, CI/CD, DevOps, DataOps, and deployment patterns for modern data platforms.
  • Guide delivery teams through architecture reviews, technical decisions, performance optimization, and troubleshooting.
  • Support proposals, estimates, demonstrations, reusable accelerators, and technical sales conversations.
  • Mentor engineers and consultants while strengthening Lantern's Microsoft and Databricks capabilities.
Skills, Knowledge and Expertise
  • Extensive experience architecting and delivering enterprise data and analytics solutions in consulting or client-facing environments.
  • Strong hands-on expertise across Azure Databricks, Microsoft Fabric, Power BI, and the Azure modern data platform.
  • Proficiency in SQL and Python or PySpark, including batch, streaming, lakehouse, data warehouse, semantic-modeling, and medallion-architecture patterns.
  • Working knowledge of data governance, security, quality, metadata, lineage, observability, CI/CD, DevOps, performance, and cost optimization.
  • Excellent consulting, communication, workshop facilitation, stakeholder management, and technical leadership skills.
  • Ability to translate business priorities into pragmatic architectures and phased delivery plans.
Preferred Certifications

  • Databricks Solution Architect Champion
  • Databricks Data Engineer Associate or Professional
  • Microsoft Fabric Data Engineer Associate (DP-700) or Fabric Analytics Engineer Associate (DP-600)
  • Power BI Data Analyst Associate (PL-300)
  • Relevant Databricks, Azure AI, machine learning, or generative AI credentials
