The Client Technology team at Client is a small group of software engineers embedded within the Investment Management department. Our charter is to support the Portfolio Management and Research teams with custom tools and analytics support.
We have two projects focused on supporting the oversight responsibilities of the Portfolio Management teams. The intention of both is to create new analytics capabilities in the form of back-end data infrastructure plus front-end user tools. Work will include enhancements to existing data pipelines, the creation of new data structures, and the creation of on-demand reporting tools.
The nature of the work could be expressed as "analytics engineering," "data engineering," or "business intelligence engineering." Qualified candidates to perform this work will have experience building analytics systems such as data pipelines, relational database tables and data sets, and online reporting tools (e.g. dashboards). Our technology stack includes AWS Redshift, MySQL, MS SQL Server, GitLab, Python, Airflow, Tableau, and Excel.
Required skills and experience:
• SQL expertise, ideally 5+ years of database programming experience with POSTGRES and/or MS SQL
• Experience with data pipelines (ETL / ELT) across databases and network file shares
• Git familiarity
Nice-to-haves:
• Python software development experience, ideally subject matter expertise with the 'pandas' data-handling library
• Experience with Power BI, Excel, and Power Query M formula language
• Tableau dashboard expertise
• Experience with AWS Redshift and MS SQL Server
