Full Job Description
We are seeking a Data Analytics and Audit Technology Manager who is an independent contributor with highly specialized skills in building data analytics to support the audit process. The role also supports OHIA in adopting new technology including artificial intelligence and other audit technologies by identifying practical use cases, assisting with pilots and implementation, and helping staff use approved tools effectively and responsibly.

Specific Duties & Responsibilities
  • Lead the development and implementation of strategies for using quantitative data and methods to understand complex business issues.
  • Shape and conduct approaches for collecting, organizing, and analyzing data, including methods for creating new data (e.g. through surveys) when there is limited or no data.
  • Employ diverse quantitative methodologies and software packages, including data validation, joining of diverse datasets, historical/trend analysis, comparative/cross-sectional analysis, GIS mapping, regression analysis, etc.
  • Invent and quickly iterate novel solutions to challenging data-related problems.
  • Create and manage project plans for the quantitative data components of all team work.
  • Develop and manage partnerships and collaborations with data providers and stakeholders.
  • Champion the use of quantitative data to drive decisions.
  • Produce compelling and intuitive data visualizations to drive comprehension of complex topics and concepts across a broad range of stakeholders;
  • Communicate data analysis so that information and findings are accessible to a non-technical audience, including through dashboard tools like Tableau or Microsoft Power BI.
  • Develop metrics and measurement systems to measure the impact of the team's projects and initiatives.
  • Connect data insights to research and collaborate with team members to conduct research sessions including focus groups, interviews, and user testing.
  • Support analogous research and literature reviews.
  • Serve as a key participant in each step of the area's data methodology, providing a quantitative perspective to all projects.
  • Serve as a lead for the data analytics team.
  • May have several Data Analysts as direct reports.
  • Demonstrates in-depth knowledge of core IT systems (such as SAP, Workday and Epic), and ability to analyze and extract data from these systems.
  • Works with audit project teams to incorporate analytics, visualization, automation, and practical AI-enabled techniques into audit planning, fieldwork, and reporting when appropriate.
  • Supports OHIA's adoption of approved artificial intelligence capabilities by helping evaluate use cases, participate in pilots, document practical guidance, and promote responsible use by audit staff.
  • Serves as a departmental resource for internal audit technology, including data analytics, dashboarding, audit management/workpaper tools, workflow automation, reporting tools, artificial intelligence and other applications used by the office.
  • Other duties as assigned.


Minimum Qualifications
  • Bachelor's Degree.
  • Seven years of related experience.
  • Additional education may substitute for required experience, and additional related experience may substitute for required education beyond a high school diploma/graduation equivalent, to the extent permitted by the JHU equivalency formula.


Preferred Qualifications

  • Proficiency with Power BI, SQL, and Generative AI (Copilot, ChatGPT, etc.)
