The Opportunity:
The desired candidate will work as a Databricks Data Engineer as part of an Oracle E-Business Suite (EBS) integrated project team supporting a Department of War (DoW) multi-Agency program. The candidate will be part of a team where complex problem solving, and communication skills are critical to success. The Data Engineer candidatewill design, develop, and optimize data pipelines and analytics solutions supporting business intelligence reporting sourced from a premier federal enterprise Oracle ERP implementation.  This role blends modern data engineering with domain expertise in ERP financials to deliver reliable, scalable insights for federal stakeholders with strict security and compliance requirements.

Responsibilities:

  • Build and maintain scalable Databricks / Spark ETL pipelines sourcing data from Oracle EBS
  • Develop ELT/ETL jobs integrating EBS modules such as Financials, Purchasing, Projects, and HR.
  • Ensure data quality, lineage, validation, and reconciliation between EBS and reporting layers.
  • Partner with functional Oracle EBS SMEs to translate federal business processes into robust data models.
  • Apply federal data governance, cybersecurity, and compliance controls
  • Document integration patterns, data flows, and technical procedures for government review and audit needs

Required skills:

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent and seven years of Oracle ERP implementation and sustainment experience
  • 5+ years hands-on experience with Databricks data model design, development, and integration
  • Experience integrating Oracle EBS (R12 / Oracle ERP Cloud) into modern data platforms.
  • Proficiency writing optimized SQL, Python, and Spark transformations.
  • Understanding of ETL orchestration tools and methodologies
  • Familiarity with data security, audit requirements, access controls, and PII handling in regulated programs.
  • Ability to interpret EBS data structures: AP, AR, GL, PO, PA, INV, HR, etc.
  • Must be a U.S. Citizen and able to obtain an IT-2 background investigation.

Nice to have skills:

  • Experience with Oracle EBS OAF tables, ESSBASE cubes, or Oracle SaaS reporting APIs.
  • Knowledge of Advana, DAI, or other DoD financial/ERP ecosystems.
  • Experience working within Federal / DoD / DoW environments, including secure cloud enclaves
  • Experience supporting audit readiness, traceability, and FOIA-compliant data products.
  • Familiarity with Databricks ML and AI tools/workflows
  • Experience with Agile/SAFE methodologies
