Cybersecurity Engineer - Web Application Firewall (F5 ASM)

Position Summary

Electrosoft is seeking a Cybersecurity Engineer to provide enterprise-level cybersecurity engineering and sustainment support for a Department of Defense (DoD) environment. This position will focus on Web Application Firewall (WAF) technologies, including F5 BIG-IP Application Security Manager (ASM), supporting the protection, availability, and security of DLA web applications.

The Cybersecurity Engineer will provide security engineering support across the planning, design, development, testing, integration, implementation, and sustainment of cybersecurity solutions.

Key Responsibilities
  • Configure, apply, test, maintain, and optimize WAF policies supporting DLA websites and applications.
  • Work with application and website stakeholders to identify security requirements and develop appropriate WAF policies.
  • Perform operational and preventive maintenance, troubleshooting, patching, upgrades, and configuration changes for WAF environments.
  • Analyze application security requirements and recommend appropriate security controls and configurations.
  • Support testing of WAF policies and security configurations prior to production implementation.
  • Troubleshoot application and WAF issues and identify corrective actions to improve system reliability and security.
  • Support manufacturer software, firmware, service-pack, and maintenance releases.
  • Perform scheduled maintenance with minimal impact to government users and mission operations.
  • Develop and maintain implementation documentation, Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), and WAF policy documentation.
  • Support system security testing, vulnerability remediation, and compliance activities.
  • Coordinate changes through established Government change-management processes.
  • Provide technical recommendations regarding WAF capabilities, enhancements, and emerging technologies.
  • Provide technical briefings, documentation, and training materials as required.

Basic Qualifications
  • Seven (7) years of relevant IT experience
  • DOD Secret Clearance
  • Must be eligible for IT I
  • Relevant certification meeting DOD 8570/8140 IAT level III
  • Relevant certification meeting DOD 8570/8140 CND-IS
  • Computing Environment: F5 Certified Technology Specialist is ASM


Pay Range

$150,000-$160,000 USD
