Cyber Security Engineer is an Information Technology professional responsible for protecting systems, networks, applications, and data against cyber threats. The role focuses on implementing, monitoring, and improving cybersecurity controls, identifying vulnerabilities, responding to security incidents, and supporting secure IT operations in a government environment.
Key Responsibilities- Design, implement, and maintain cybersecurity solutions and security controls.
- Monitor systems and networks for potential security threats and vulnerabilities.
- Conduct vulnerability assessments and support remediation activities.
- Investigate and respond to cybersecurity incidents and security events.
- Analyze security logs, alerts, and other security data to identify suspicious activity.
- Support security architecture and secure system design initiatives.
- Implement cybersecurity best practices across enterprise IT environments.
- Support security compliance, risk management, and authorization requirements.
- Develop and maintain security documentation, procedures, and technical reports.
- Collaborate with network, systems, software, and infrastructure teams to address security requirements.
- Evaluate emerging cybersecurity technologies and recommend appropriate solutions.
- Support continuous monitoring and improvement of cybersecurity capabilities.
- Provide technical guidance on cybersecurity risks and mitigation strategies.
- Support secure configuration, hardening, and protection of IT systems.
- Travel within the Continental U.S. as required, up to 10%.
Required Qualifications- Minimum TS/SCI security clearance.
- Cybersecurity/Information Technology professional background.
