DescriptionMarkon is seeking a Cyber Ops Hardware Engineer to support an Intelligence Community client in Chantilly, Virginia. This position will integrate complex hardware collection systems from initial development through deployment and operational sustainment, supporting technical collection and cyber operations mission requirements. The engineer will work closely with operations teams to translate operational needs into technical solutions, develop CONOPS and requirements, and guide hardware capabilities through integration, certification, approval, deployment, and lifecycle operations.
Responsibilities
- Integrate complex hardware collection systems from development through operational deployment and sustainment.
- Support the full technical lifecycle, including CONOPS development, requirements analysis, design development, integration, certification, approval, deployment, and operations and maintenance (O&M).
- Plan and execute hardware-based technical operations supporting mission requirements.
- Work directly with operations teams to translate operational needs into viable technical solutions.
- Develop, document, and manage technical requirements throughout the project lifecycle.
- Analyze and solve complex technical collection challenges involving hardware, communications, and cyber technologies.
- Conceptualize technical solutions and architectures to address evolving operational requirements.
- Evaluate and integrate commercial technologies and cyber technical capabilities into mission solutions.
- Apply knowledge of wireless communications and RF technologies to hardware collection and operational challenges.
- Support solutions incorporating cellular modems, Wi-Fi technologies, and short-range RF systems.
- Apply computer network operations principles when developing and integrating technical collection capabilities.
- Coordinate with engineering, development, and operational stakeholders to transition capabilities from development into mission operations.
Qualifications
Required:
- An active TS/SCI with a FSP (Preferrably from this client) is required to be considered.
- Bachelor’s degree related to the technical discipline and at least 6 years of relevant experience integrating hardware collection systems; OR
- Associate’s degree and at least 8 years of related experience; OR
- No degree and at least 10 years of related experience.
- Direct experience supporting technical collection and/or cyber operations.
- Working knowledge of cyber technical capabilities and commercial technologies.
- Understanding of wireless communications protocols and RF signal characteristics.
- Understanding of cellular modems, Wi-Fi chipsets, and short-range RF systems.
- Understanding of computer network operations principles.
- Demonstrated ability to translate operational requirements into technical hardware solutions and support capabilities throughout the project lifecycle.

Salary RangeUSD $160,000.00 - USD $190,000.00 /Yr.The Markon pay range for this position is a general guideline only and not a guarantee of compensation or salary.
