Job OverviewWe are seeking a skilled and compassionate X-ray Technologist to join our outpatient imaging team. The ideal candidate will perform diagnostic radiographic procedures with precision, accuracy, and attention to patient comfort. As part of a multidisciplinary team, the technologist will contribute to patient care by producing high-quality images that aid in diagnosis and treatment planning.
Key Responsibilities- Perform high-quality CT imaging procedures according to physician orders and departmental protocols.
- Operate CT equipment safely and effectively, including preparing contrast materials when required.
- Verify patient identification and review medical history for procedure appropriateness.
- Explain procedures to patients and address questions to ensure comfort and cooperation.
- Properly position patients for imaging and ensure optimal image quality while minimizing radiation exposure.
- Monitor patients during procedures, especially those receiving contrast agents, and respond appropriately to adverse reactions.
- Process and transfer images to PACS and ensure proper documentation in patient records.
- Maintain cleanliness and readiness of CT rooms and equipment; report any malfunctions or safety concerns.
- Follow all infection control, safety, and radiation protection protocols.
- Collaborate with radiologists, referring physicians, and team members to support efficient workflow and patient care.
- Participate in continuing education to maintain ARRT certification and stay current with evolving CT technology and practices.
- Assist with quality assurance and accreditation efforts as directed.
Qualifications- Graduate of an accredited Radiologic Technology program.
- Current certification by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) in Radiography (R) and Computed Tomography (CT).
- Valid state licensure (if required by state law).
- Current hands-on CPR/BLS certification (must be maintained).
- Minimum of 1 year of CT experience preferred.
- Experience with various CT equipment vendors (e.g., GE, Siemens, Philips) is a plus.
- New graduates may be considered with clinical experience and strong technical aptitude.
Skills and Competencies- Cross-sectional anatomy, CT imaging techniques, and medical terminology.
- Radiation safety principles, including ALARA guidelines.
- Contrast media usage, administration protocols, and emergency response procedures.
- PACS/RIS systems and digital image processing.
- Proficient use of CT imaging equipment and positioning techniques.
- Effective communication with patients, physicians, and coworkers.
- Technical troubleshooting and critical thinking in clinical situations.
- Accurate documentation and attention to detail.
- Provide high-quality, patient-centered care in a clinical setting.
- Work efficiently under pressure and adapt to changing patient needs or priorities.
