This is a Travel position. You must live more than 30 miles from the facility to be considered for this position.

Nuclear Medicine Technologist OpportunitySchedule Details
  • Monday - Friday schedule with varying shifts of either 7am - 3:30pm or 9:30am - 6:30pm
  • No weekends, no call, no holidays
Position Responsibilities
  • Reviews patient history and physician's orders
  • Educates patient regarding procedures, equipment and exam to ensure patient's understanding and cooperation
  • Positions patient and performs imaging procedure(s)
  • Ensures proper imaging techniques related to patients age and ability to understand procedure (sight, hearing needs, ability to cooperate) to ensure image quality is successfully obtained
  • Reviews patient information and interpretation of data to confirm an appropriate plan and intervention specific for age related needs and provision of care
  • Performs nuclear medicine imaging and therapy in accordance with applicable scope and standards of practice and with the policies, values, and mission of the organization
  • Analyzes results and identifies issues with the quality of imaging results
  • Takes appropriate action to resolve image quality issues, including repositioning patient and repeating procedure
  • Enters, transmits and reports scan results
  • Orders, prepares, administers, stores and disposes of radiopharmaceuticals according to established protocols and applicable regulations/standards
  • Monitors patient condition continually and reports/responds to changes in status as appropriate
  • Maintains appropriate inventory of supplies in the Clinical Nuclear Medicine rooms
Job Requirements
  • CT certified and has PET/CT experience
  • ARRT CT
  • NMTCB CT
  • Certified as a Nuclear Medicine Technologist (CNMT) by the Nuclear Medicine Technology Certification Board (NMTCB) or registered as a Radiologic Technologist (RT) and certified in Nuclear Medicine (NM) by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT)
  • NYS License
  • BLS (American Heart Association)
  • 2 years Experience
Equipment
  • Preferred knowledge in GE PET or Philips PET Scanners (not a requirement)
Required Skills
  • 2 years Nuclear Tech
  • NYS License
  • ARRT Certification w/ CE credits
  • BLS Certification
  • CT experience
