Project Overview:

The rapid growth of AI and digitalization is fuelling unprecedented demand for data centres that require large, reliable sources of energy. In response to this market trend, the Renewables & Clean Power (R&CP) team have signed an early works contract to build one of the largest gas fired power generation facilities in the U.S.

The candidate will act as the CSU Turnover Lead on the Combined Cycle Gas Turbine (CCGT) Project in Cheyenne, Wyoming.

Job Summary:

Assigned to the project team as a representative of the Commissioning and Startup functional group, the CSU Turnover Lead is responsible for coordinating between Construction, Startup, Subcontractors, and the Customer to ensure that the area and system turnover logic is communicated to construction and coordinating walkdowns of the various areas and startup systems to identify remaining work. The CSU Turnover Lead will be responsible for leading the day-to-day activities of a team of technical and administrative personnel. The CSU Turnover Lead will oversee the punch listing program for systems and area turnovers and will participate in expediting the completion of the remaining work. They will also be responsible for ensuring completions tracking programs are up to date for their teams' scope and for assuring that all applicable documentation and inspection forms are complete, compiled and presented for turnover.

Major Responsibilities:

  • Develops firm understanding of system and area scoping and drawings required for package development.
  • Builds system and area turnover packages both digitally and physically for turnover to startup and client.
  • Schedules system and area walkdowns and coordinates with construction, startup, and the client as applicable.
  • Prepares system and area walkdown packages
  • Leads system and area walkdowns
  • Scribes all punch list items that arise on walkdowns for input into the punch list tracking system.
  • Inputs punch list items and maintain punch list tracking system.
  • Leverages data and creates reporting for strategy development and decision making
  • Coordinates with Startup managers on priorities and strategies for subcontracted work:
  • Schedules walkdowns for the scope
  • Validates punch list for the scope
  • Ensures inspection records are completed and submitted for the scope
  • Coordinates with direct hire Supervision


Education and Experience Requirements:

  • Requires bachelor's degree (or international equivalent) and 10-13 years of relevant experience or 14-17 years of relevant work experience


Required Knowledge and Skills:

  • Relevant experience in delivering large-scale combined cycle power projects.
  • Broad working knowledge of industry and regulatory standards and facilities' operations criteria pertinent to the activities supervised.
  • Knowledge and experience with commissioning behind the meter power generation is preferred. Integration of power facilities in a data centre environment is preferred.
  • Extensive knowledge of administrative practices including cost and scheduling.
  • Working knowledge of P&IDs, Single Line Diagrams
  • Ability to work effectively in leading in a team environment, motivating and supporting others.
  • Demonstrated expert understanding of CSU core processes and procedures.
  • Technical and practical comprehension of engineering, procurement, and construction functions and general business techniques.
  • Excellent skill in oral and written communication with demonstrated skill to present CSU information to management and client.
