Job Summary and Responsibilities

As our CRNA (Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetist), you will provide a safe anesthetic experience for assigned patients under the guidance of the attending surgeon. This is an opportunity for a Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetist (CRNA) to join the Advanced Practice Provider team in the Department of Anesthesiology at our tertiary care, Level II Trauma center. Under our Anesthesia Care Team model, we provide anesthesia services for patients requiring surgery and any other procedures requiring an anesthetic. This position will provide care in our downtown Tacoma location, St. Joseph Medical Center. This is a 100% Medical Direction model. Shifts can include 7a-5p (10 hrs) or 7a-7p (12 hrs).

Every day, you will be responsible for meeting established surgical standards and managing anesthesia supplies and equipment in the Operating Room. You will also promote teamwork with Operating Room personnel, physicians, and other departments.

To be successful in your role, you will meticulously provide safe general and regional anesthetic experiences for assigned patients, working under the guidance of the attending surgeon. You will demonstrate exceptional expertise in anesthesia administration and management, ensure rigorous adherence to Surgical Standards and Recommended Practices, and proactively foster teamwork within the Operating Room and across departments to achieve optimal patient outcomes and efficient surgical operations.
  • Hospital-employed position
  • Team-based anesthesia care model with Physician Anesthesiologists providing medical direction with CRNAs and CAAs
  • Tertiary care, Level II Trauma Center
  • Diverse caseload, including complex vascular, thoracic, acute care surgery, surgical oncology, orthopedic, ENT, Gyn, interventional pulmonary, GI, and high-risk OB. There is no pediatrics and no open heart cases for this position.

We are offering a guaranteed salary based on CRNA experience and CRNA's are eligible for additional quality incentive compensation, pro-rated for FTE.

Job Requirements

Required
  • Current Washington State Registered Nurse License and Advanced Registered Nurse Practitioner License
  • Current Certification as a CRNA through the National Board of Certification & Recertification for Nurse Anesthetists (NBCRNA)
  • Ability to obtain a DEA with full prescriptive authority needed for specific practice
  • Strong knowledge of current anesthesia practices and procedures
  • Aptitude for detail and strong organizational skills
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to respond appropriately in stressful or emergent situations
Preferred
  • 2+ years experience following training
  • EPIC experience

Pay Range
$268,800 - $291,200 /year
