Description- Anesthesia & Procedural Care
• Perform pre-anesthesia assessments, develop anesthesia care plans, and obtain informed consent.
• Administer anesthesia for:
o Surgical procedures
o Endoscopic procedures
o Obstetric services (including labor epidurals and cesarean sections)
o Emergency procedures
• Provide monitored anesthesia care (MAC) and procedural sedation in:
o Emergency Department
o Medical-surgical units
• Manage airway support, including advanced airway interventions across all departments.
Obstetrics Coverage
• Provide anesthesia services for labor and delivery patients.
• Maintain a maximum 30-minute response time for obstetric cases when on call.
• Respond to emergent obstetrical situations, including urgent and emergent cesarean deliveries.
Call Coverage
• Participate in a 2 weeks on / 2 weeks offrotation providing 24/7 call coverage during assigned period.
• Be available to respond to anesthesia needs hospital-wide, including:
o OR cases
o Emergency airway management
o Procedural sedation
o Obstetric emergencies
Patient Safety & Quality
• Monitor patients throughout anesthesia administration and recovery.
• Ensure compliance with hospital policies, anesthesia standards, and regulatory requirements.
• Participate in quality improvement initiatives, peer review, and performance improvement activities.
Collaboration & Communication
• Work collaboratively with physicians, surgeons, nursing staff, and leadership.
• Provide education and support to clinical staff regarding sedation safety, airway management, and anesthesia-related care.
RequirementsSKILLS & ABILITIES
Education: Minimum:
Graduate of an accredited nurse anesthesia program
Experience:
Minimum: 1 plus years of experience in as a CRNA working with surgical and obstetric care.
Preferred: 1-3 years experience in a rural or Critical Access Hospital setting or experience with independent anesthesia practice
Computer skills: Certificates & Licenses Electronic Health Record
Microsoft Suite of products
Current
certification as a Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetist (CRNA)Active Registered Nurse and APRN licensure in the State of KansasCurrent certification in:
- BLS (Basic Life Support)
- ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support)
- PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support) preferred
- Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) preferred
