Job Summary and ResponsibilitiesAs our CRNA (Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetist), you will provide a safe anesthetic experience for patients at St. Joseph Medical Center in Tacoma. This is an opportunity for a Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetist (CRNA) to join the team in the Department of Anesthesiology at our tertiary care, Level II Trauma center. This position will provide care in our downtown Tacoma location, St. Joseph Medical Center, and our outpatient surgery center which is onsite. This is a 100% Medical Direction model.
Every day, you will be responsible for meeting established surgical standards and managing anesthesia supplies and equipment in the Operating Room. You will also promote teamwork with Operating Room personnel, physicians, and other departments.
To be successful in your role, you will provide safe general and regional anesthetic experiences for assigned patients in an Anesthesia Care Team model. You will demonstrate exceptional expertise in anesthesia administration and management, ensure rigorous adherence to Surgical Standards and Recommended Practices, and proactively foster teamwork within the Operating Room and across departments to achieve optimal patient outcomes and efficient surgical operations.

- Anesthesia care team model with Anesthesiologists providing medical direction
- Tertiary care, Level II Trauma Center
- Diverse caseload, including complex vascular, thoracic, acute care surgery, surgical oncology, orthopedic, ENT, Gyn, interventional pulmonary, GI, and high-risk OB. There is no pediatrics and no open heart cases for this position.
- Available shifts include 7am-5pm (10 hrs) or 7am-7pm (12 hrs).
- Predictable work schedule with minimal call (One 12 hour weekend day shift per month)
- Flexible PTO with 6 weeks annually.
- $2,500 CME plus expense reimbursement
We are offering a guaranteed salary ranging from $268,800 - $291,200 /year based on CRNA experience. CRNA's are eligible for up to an additional $10,000/year in quality incentive and additional pay for any shift work done beyond FTE requirements. $20,000 Starting Bonus plus relocation assistance is offered for full-time new hires.
Job Requirements
Required
- Current Washington State Registered Nurse License and Advanced Registered Nurse Practitioner License
- Current Certification as a CRNA through the National Board of Certification & Recertification for Nurse Anesthetists (NBCRNA)
- Ability to obtain a DEA with full prescriptive authority needed for specific practice
- Strong knowledge of current anesthesia practices and procedures
- Aptitude for detail and strong organizational skills
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to respond appropriately in stressful or emergent situations
Preferred
- 2+ years experience following training
- EPIC experience
