Responsibilities
- Independent CRNA Practice
- All elective scheduled surgery/No Call/ No Nights/ No Weekends
- No Obstetrics
- Current Services:

- Assure patient's safety and welfare
- Perform and document pre-anesthetic assessment of patient, including requesting consultations and diagnostic studies
- Select, obtain, order and administer pre-anesthetic medications
- Obtain informed consent for anesthesia
- Develop and implement anesthetic plan
- Select and initiate the planned anesthetic technique
- Select, obtain and administer anesthetic, adjuvant drugs, and accessory drugs and fluids necessary to manage the anesthetic
- Manage a patient's airway and pulmonary status using endotracheal intubation, mechanical ventilation, pharmacological support, respiratory therapy or extubation
- Manage emergence and recovery from anesthesia
- Release patients from a post-anesthesia care area, providing follow-up evaluation and care, relating to anesthesia side effects or complications
- Order, initiate or modify pain relief therapy
- Respond to emergency situations by providing airway management, administration of emergency fluids or drugs, or using basic or advanced cardiac life support techniques
- Additional responsibilities which are within the expertise of CRNA
- Ensure department/service/system compliance with regulatory agencies (Joint Commission, MDPH, etc.) as well as all applicable federal and state laws and regulations
Requirements
- Graduate of an accredited school of nursing
- Valid Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetist license
