Environmental Corporate Health & Safety Manager - Environmental Consulting & Remediation

Must be able to commute to the following office:Location: 5 Old Dock Road, Yaphank, NY 11980 | Full-Time | Environmental Consulting & Remediation

EnviroTrac LLC is seeking an experienced Corporate Health & Safety Manager throughout Yaphank, NY and the surrounding area. This is an excellent opportunity for a Health & Safety professional with a strong background in environmental consulting to gain experience with high-profile projects for diverse clients in retail petroleum, oil & gas, government, insurance, commercial, and industrial sectors.

Key Responsibilities
  • Supports programs and policies for monitoring and preventing chemical, physical, and biological hazards.
  • Surveys, compiles, and analyzes data relating to occupational and environmental health issues such as chemical exposure, radiation, smoke, fumes, noise, temperatures, dusts, vapors, mists, gases, solvents, lighting, and ergonomics which are known or suspected of being real or potential detriments to health.
  • Performs field and safety measurements, safety evaluations, and hazardous evaluations.
  • Provides input to hazardous material communications, including maintaining material data sheets.
  • Maintains monitoring instrumentation and equipment.
  • Implements or recommends control measures for exposure to hazardous materials or conditions.
  • Directs workers engaged in field and laboratory verification of compliance with health regulations.
  • Provides technical guidance to groups regarding health related problems and correct use of protective clothing or accessories.
  • Monitors the company's health standards in compliance with applicable laws and regulations.
  • Implements a program and system to track and evaluate worker injuries.
  • Maintains working knowledge of new developments in the industry and government regulations.
  • Facilitates training for workers on issues related to health and safety.

Qualifications & Skills
  • Education - Bachelor's degree from a 4-year college or university.
  • Experience - 15+ years experience and training
  • Proficiency - Competent in Microsoft Office, Adobe Acrobat, and ability to work with computerized database searches.
  • Certifications - OSHA 40-hour HAZWOPER (required), Asbestos/Lead/Mold Certifications, CPR certification, valid driver's license.
  • Physical Requirement - Physical ability to work in the field under all weather conditions, climb ladders, stairs and walk on a variety of terrain.
  • Other Requirements - Ability to travel for field work when necessary.
