Role SummaryWe're looking for a hands-on Corporate Controller to build and professionalize the controlling and accounting function of a rapidly growing AI-enabled insurance distribution platform. This is a high-growth-opportunity role: you'll own core accounting and controlling operations day-to-day while working directly with leadership on building out our finance infrastructure and reporting. You will spend significant time on the development, refinement and automation of accounting and controlling processes and policies.
This role suits someone with a builder mentality who wants to shape the accounting and controlling function early rather than step into one that's already built.
Key ResponsibilitiesControlling & Accounting Operations- Own monthly close and core accounting operations
- Own the general ledger and payment systems
- Prepare investor and lender reporting as well as all necessary filings
- Establish and maintain basic internal controls
- Partner with external advisors (tax, integration, and others) as needed
Systems & Process Automation- Lead the implementation of our ERP and AP software at our acquired partners
- Automate and optimize financial workflows (AP, AR, consolidation, close, reporting, filings)
- Transition the organization from fragmented tools (e.g., QuickBooks, spreadsheets) to an integrated environment
What you bring / core competencies- 4-7 years of relevant accounting and finance experience
- At least 2 years at an accounting or audit firm
- At least 2 years at a startup or small company
- Comfortable operating with limited structure and building process from scratch
- Deep understanding of monthly close, budgeting, cash forecasting, and basic controls
- AI experience is a strong plus
What makes you successful in this role- You're an A-player with high energy and a builder mentality - you see this as an opportunity to grow, not just a job to fill
- You're hands-on by default and comfortable operating in ambiguity
- You enjoy building structure where little exists - and doing it fast
- You communicate clearly with both finance and non-finance stakeholders
- You thrive in environments with rapid growth, tight timelines, and evolving priorities
What we offer- Flexible (Unlimited) Paid Time Off
- Medical, Dental, and Vision benefits for you and your family
- Retirement Plan (e.g., 401K)
- Parental Leave
