POSITION SUMMARY:

The Corporate Communications Specialist develops and delivers strategic communications that inform, engage, and inspire both internal and external audiences. This role supports the organization's business objectives, culture, brand reputation, and growth through effective employee communications, media relations, executive communications, and corporate storytelling.

This position is ideal for a strong writer and communicator who thrives in a fast-paced environment and wants hands-on experience shaping internal and external communications, leadership messaging, public relations initiatives, and company-wide communications programs. The Corporate Communications Specialist serves as a trusted partner to HR, business leaders, and other key stakeholders to ensure consistent, compelling, and audience-focused communications across all channels.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

Internal Communications
  • In partnership with the Senior Manager, Communications, develop and implement internal communications strategies that keep employees informed, engaged, and connected to company priorities and key decisions.
  • Write and execute internal communications including company updates, announcements, newsletters, intranet content (SharePoint), leadership messaging, and employee engagement campaigns.
  • Translate complex, technical concepts into clear, engaging messaging for diverse audiences.
  • Project manage global communication requests (Jira) by gathering information, refining communication needs, coordinating stakeholders, and ensuring timely execution.
  • Review and edit content drafted by internal stakeholders to ensure alignment with company strategy, culture, values, and brand voice.
  • Partner with HR and business leaders on company-wide initiatives that enhance employee engagement and organizational effectiveness.
  • Serve as a subject matter expert on employee communications best practices and emerging engagement strategies.
  • Maintain internal messaging libraries, editorial calendars, communication standards, and brand voice guidelines.


External Communications
  • Support the development and execution of external communications strategies that enhance brand awareness, strengthen corporate reputation, and support business objectives.
  • Draft and distribute external communications materials including press releases, media statements, fact sheets, executive communications, customer-facing announcements, and corporate website content.
  • Monitor media coverage and industry trends and provide recommendations to support proactive communications opportunities.
  • Assist in managing media inquiries and coordinating interviews, speaking opportunities, and public relations activities.
  • Partner with marketing, business leaders, and subject matter experts to develop compelling stories highlighting company achievements, innovation, culture, and thought leadership.
  • Support executive visibility initiatives through development of keynote presentations, articles, social media content, and speaking engagement materials.
  • Ensure messaging consistency across internal and external communication channels and audiences.
  • Help maintain crisis communication resources and support communications response activities as needed.


Event Support
  • Manage communications content and logistics for internal and external in-person, virtual, and hybrid events, including Town Halls, podcasts, leadership forums, industry conferences, customer events, and media engagements.
  • Develop supporting communication materials, presentations, talking points, and event messaging.


Measurement & Continuous Improvement
  • Develop and maintain analytics and reporting to measure communication effectiveness across internal and external channels.
  • Evaluate engagement metrics, media coverage, audience feedback, and campaign performance to identify successes and opportunities for improvement.
  • Recommend and implement continuous improvements based on data, industry trends, and best practices.

QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Excellent written, verbal, editing, and interpersonal communication skills.

  • Demonstrated customer service orientation and stakeholder management skills.
  • Proven ability to prioritize and manage multiple projects and deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • Collaborative, adaptable, and proactive work style with a strong sense of ownership.
  • Advanced proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Knowledge of video production and multimedia communications preferred.
  • Familiarity with communications measurement, analytics, and reporting tools preferred.


EXPERIENCE:
  • Minimum of 5 years of progressive communications experience in corporate communications, internal communications, public relations, marketing communications, or a related field.
  • Demonstrated experience developing content for both internal and external audiences.
  • Experience supporting media relations, public relations, executive communications, or brand communications initiatives.
  • Experience using SharePoint, Jira, and/or digital communications platforms.
  • Experience working in a global, technical, manufacturing, or industrial environment preferred.


EDUCATION:
  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university in Communications, Journalism, Public Relations, Marketing, English, or a related field.


COMPENSATION:

As required by multiple state pay transparency laws, Advanced Energy provides a reasonable range of compensation for each job posting. Actual compensation is influenced by an array of factors including, but not limited to, skill set, level of experience, and specific office location. The range of starting pay for this role is $75,000 to $110,000 per year.
