Join Associated Bank as a Portfolio Manager and play a key role in managing and growing a diverse commercial banking portfolio. You'll partner with Relationship Managers to deliver sound credit solutions, strengthen client relationships, and identify opportunities that help businesses succeed. Key Accountabilities- Manage a portfolio of commercial banking relationships while ensuring compliance with credit policies, regulatory requirements, and risk standards.
- Analyze financial statements and credit requests to evaluate risk, recommend loan structures, and support sound lending decisions.
- Partner with Relationship Managers to strengthen client relationships, deliver exceptional service, and support portfolio growth.
- Monitor portfolio performance, loan repayment activity, and client financial health to proactively manage credit quality.
- Identify opportunities to expand client relationships through referrals for treasury management, private banking, capital markets, and other banking solutions.
- Coordinate loan renewals, due diligence, and credit documentation by working closely with clients, credit teams, and internal business partners.
- Support new business development through financial analysis, opportunity assessments, and participation in the loan approval process.
- Represent Associated Bank by participating in community and business organizations to build relationships and strengthen the bank's presence in the market.
Education & ExperienceRequired- Bachelor's degree in Business, Finance, Accounting, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
- 5+ years of experience in Commercial Banking, Commercial Real Estate, Corporate Banking, Specialized Banking, or Credit Approval.
- 5+ years of experience underwriting and managing complex commercial credit relationships.
- Valid driver's license (where applicable) and reliable transportation.
Preferred- 2+ years of sales or business development experience.
- 2+ years of formal commercial credit training.
- Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) designation.
