Full Job Description
Multicare Omak Rural Training Program | Omak, Washington

Empower the next generation of rural physicians. Practice true full-spectrum medicine. Make an unmistakable impact.

The Opportunity

Are you a full-spectrum family physician who thrives on the autonomy of rural practice? Do you want to scale your impact by mentoring the next generation of resourceful, compassionate doctors?

The Multicare Omak Rural Training Program is seeking a Core Faculty Family Physician to join our dedicated educational team in Omak, Washington. This unique role perfectly balances direct primary care with graduate medical education, allowing you to shape a high-quality rural residency track from the ground up.

Where You'll Practice
  • Outpatient Care: Manage your own panel and precept residents at Family Health Centers, a vibrant Federally Qualified Health Center (FQHC) that serves as the heart of our community's care and the resident continuity clinic.
  • Inpatient & Obstetrics: Deliver babies and manage care at Mid Valley Hospital, a critical access hospital equipped to handle low-risk obstetrics, acute adult medicine, and stabilizing care for a expansive geographic region.

A Balanced 1.0 FTE Schedule

We protect your time so you can protect your passion for teaching. Your role is structurally divided to prevent burnout and maximize educational impact:
  • 0.6 FTE Outpatient Clinic: Direct patient care (adult, pediatric, prenatal, and procedural care, including LARCs and buprenorphine/MAT).
  • 0.2 FTE Obstetrics & After-Hours Call: Supervising residents on the labor deck and managing admissions.
  • 0.1 FTE Resident Continuity Precepting: Teaching in the clinic, offering real-time feedback, and modeling rural clinical reasoning.
  • 0.1 FTE Protected Academic Time: Dedicated hours for curriculum design, leading procedure workshops, resident mentorship, and QI projects.

Who You Are
  • A Board-Certified/Eligible MD or DO in Family Medicine.
  • Eligible for a Washington State Medical License.
  • A Full-Spectrum Champion: You possess strong skills in outpatient medicine, prenatal/OB care, and office-based procedures. (Surgical OB and inpatient hospitalist capabilities are highly welcomed but optional).
  • An Educator at Heart: You have a passion for graduate medical education, a commitment to underserved populations, and a desire to teach the "hidden curriculum" of rural resourcefulness and progressive autonomy.

What We Offer
  • Competitive Salary reflective of your experience and faculty status.
  • Comprehensive Benefits Package (Health, dental, vision, retirement, and malpractice insurance).
  • Generous CME Allowance and professional development support to grow as an academic leader.
  • Loan Repayment Eligibility through robust state and federal rural health programs.
  • Unmatched Pacific Northwest Quality of Life: Enjoy four distinct seasons, world-class outdoor recreation (hiking, skiing, fishing, boating), a close-knit community, and a lower cost of living-all within Washington State.

Ready to Shape the Future of Rural Health?

If you are ready to trade the assembly-line feel of urban medicine for a deeply rewarding, mission-driven career in medical education, we want to hear from you.
