What is the Opportunity?As part of an alliance agreement, Aecon has been awarded a contract in an Aecon-led partnership with Kiewit Nuclear Canada by Ontario Power Generation (OPG) for the execution phase of the Darlington New Nuclear Project (DNNP) in Clarington, Ontario. Beginning in 2025, Aecon will support the construction of the Unit 1 Small Modular Reactor at the Darlington site.
Reporting to the Metrology Lead, this role supports metrology activities within the DNNP. The Metrology Coordinator is responsible for organizing and documenting metrology work, managing measurement data generated by field technicians, supporting 3D modelling and CAD-based visual planning aids, preparing reports, and tracking equipment calibration. The Coordinator also ensures personnel are properly trained and compliant with metrology procedures and standards.
What You'll Do Here:- Support field execution - Assist with planning and carrying out metrology activities under the direction of the Metrology Lead
- Complete documentation - Prepare and maintain all required documentation within the Construction Work Plan
- Generate reports - Produce metrology reports in approved formats
- Support CAD and modelling - Create and update 3D models, visual aids, and layout references
- Assist with alignment activities - Provide support to field teams during fabrication, fit-up, and installation tasks
- Maintain equipment readiness - Support calibration, qualification, and routine care of metrology equipment
- Coordinate with construction teams - Collaborate with field supervisors, engineering, and QA to ensure measurement requirements are met
- Follow safety and quality standards - Adhere to project safety protocols and quality procedures
- Support data management - Organize, store, and maintain measurement data and project records
- Contribute to continuous improvement - Identify opportunities to improve measurement workflows and reporting practices
What You Bring to the Team:- Metrology experience - Minimum 2 years working with laser trackers, portable arms, scanners, and metrology software such as Spatial Analyzer or PolyWorks
- Technical qualifications - Postsecondary education in Engineering or a related discipline, or a valid Journeyman Millwright or Machinist license
- CAD capability - Proficiency with CAD platforms and experience in 3D modeling
- Drawing interpretation - Ability to read and interpret complex engineering drawings
- Digital literacy - Strong computer skills, including Microsoft Office and Excel
- Communication skills - Effective verbal and written communication with the ability to collaborate across teams
- Organization - Demonstrated ability to prioritize tasks and manage multiple responsibilities
- Adaptability - Proven ability to perform in a fast-paced, dynamic environment requiring multitasking, problem-solving, and analytical skills
- Quality standards - General knowledge of QA standards including ISO 9001:2008, CSA N258.008, Z299.3, and Z299.4
The expected pay range for this role is $85,000 - $115,000 per year.
