The Coordinator: Docket provides professional docket support services to Mayer Brown lawyers and staff in the Chicago, DC, New York, Palo Alto, and Los Angeles offices. Communicates with the Global Director of Risk Management - U.S. regarding status of department operations and assignments.
ResponsibilitiesEssential Functions: - Computes deadlines and calendaring of events using the CompuLaw Vision Docket System
- Files legal documents with courts and administrative agencies (both electronically & in paper form)
- Conducts general research regarding court rules and procedures
- Performs case related research at court and on-line and retrieve court documents
- Executes queries and prepares reports to assist attorneys in responding to auditor's requests
- Coordinates activities by vendors that provide clerical support to the Firm (e.g., clerking services, process servers, etc.)
- Prepares and distributes reports regarding case action dates, hearings, deadlines, etc.
- Monitors case activities and update the central docket application accordingly
- Performs other duties as assigned or required to meet Firm goals and objectives
Qualifications, Experience and Personal AttributesEducation/Training/Certifications: - Bachelor's degree in a related field. An equivalent combination of education and/or experience may be considered in lieu of the degree when the experience has been directly related to the functions of the job
Professional Experience: - Minimum of two years of docket experience, preferred
Technical Skills: - Proficiency in Microsoft Office products, required
- Keyboarding skills: 50+ WPM, preferred
- Experience with Internet research, preferred
- Strong familiarity with public record systems such as: PACER, Courtlink, Bloomberg, CourtExpress & CourtAlert, preferred
- Proficiency with rules based calendaring software, preferred
- Proficiency with electronic court filing, preferred
- Notary Public, preferred
Performance Traits: - Strong written and verbal communication skills, able to communicate effectively and in a professional manner with all levels of the Firm and outside vendors
- Ability to work in a diverse team environment and effectively support the demanding needs of the Firm
- Ability to work under pressure, meet deadlines with shifting priorities
- Must be a self-starter with a high level of initiative
- Strong customer service skills, able to anticipate needs
- Strong attention to detail, organizational skills and the ability to handle multiple projects
- Maintains confidentiality and exercises discretion
- Exercises solid strategic thinking and problem-solving skills
Physical Requirements: - May require occasional lifting of up to 20 lbs.

Posted Pay RangeThe typical pay scale for this position is between USD $71,000.00/Yr. and USD $95,000.00/Yr., although the actual wage or salary could be lower or higher if the candidate's education, experience, skills and internal pay alignment are different from those specified.
