Control Engineer (SG 24)
Requisition Summary
Supports electrical and automation control systems development and troubleshooting Plant-wide. Design and implement controls improvements to increase efficiency, reduce costs, and improve reliability.
Job Functions / Responsibilities
• Designs and implements modifications to existing electrical system which includes robotics, automation equipment and CNC machines
• Solicits bids, selects contractors, and coordinates activities with internal departments
• Ensures projects are completed within budget and on schedule, ensuring that the vendors follows all Paccar Inc safety requirements
• Coordinates and supervises major maintenance, emergency repairs, and corrective actions on equipment and facilities
• Maintains necessary records and documentation, preparing management reports as necessary
• Implement and maintain computerized PLC and CNC
• Continuous improvement working with IT department and integrated process monitoring systems
• Follow plant's standards for filing and maintaining documentation per ISO standards. Maintains up-to date machine design documentation for all machines.
• Reviews engineering designs for manufacturing feasibility and recommends changes as necessary
• Prepare, manage and implement capital budget projects. Support Six Sigma projects
• Facilitate effective communication to plant management on project status
Qualifications & Skills
• BSEE or equivalent Technical degree
• Minimum 5 years related experience
• Familiar with risk assessments and safety evaluation
• Ability to manage multiple projects with the flexibility to adapt to conflicting requirements
• Knowledge of city, state, and federal electrical codes required. Knowledge of mechanical and safety codes preferred
• Knowledge of Profibus, Profisafe, Safety Integrated, and ASI-Bus
• PLC programming using Siemens TIA Portal
• CNC programming using Siemens Step-7 Powerline, Solutionline and HMI advance
• Demonstrated ability to create and interpret electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic schematics and ladder diagrams, function block diagrams, STL to effectively trouble shoot systems
• Exceptional computer literacy. Microsoft and AutoCAD desired
• Hands on experience with equipment controls
