Job Responsibilities:

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

The controls engineer works in a manufacturing plant environment and will be exposed to some elements such as temperature and noise. Must be flexible in hours of work to meet internal/external customer requirements (scheduled and non-scheduled overtime shifts, etc.). Ability to travel internationally (if required) and to work overtime may be required to meet customer expectations.

Frequently required to reach with hands and arms and talk and listen. The employee must frequently general good health to meet fast paced environment, and sometimes high stress situations. Must be able to function in a very fast pace moving environment. The employee is occasionally required to climb or balance; stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl and lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision and ability to adjust focus.

WORK ENVIRONMENT:

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is in an office setting and plant floor. The noise level in the office environment is usually low to moderate. The employee is occasionally exposed to low levels of vibration. The employee may be required to be on the production floor where they would be exposed to moving mechanical parts. The noise level in the production environment is usually moderate to loud.

  • Equipment: Laptop PC, telephone, photocopier, etc.


  • Software: Windows, Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel), PLC Software


KNOWLEDGE:

  • Familiar with Siemens TIA Portal, Beckhoff TwinCat 3, Siemens Simotion, Siemens WinCC


  • IEC61131


  • SCADA Development systems


  • Knowledge of efficiency tracking, root cause analysis, and KPIs


  • Knowledge of electrical code (NEC and NFPA)


  • Competent with AutoCAD Electrical
