Controller / VP of Finance
Location: Monmouth County | Hybrid
Soni is partnering with a growing, private equity-backed organization seeking a Controller / VP of Finance to take broad ownership of its accounting and finance operations.
This is a highly hands-on role spanning financial reporting, close, consolidations, budgeting and forecasting, M&A integration, systems, and process improvement. The ideal candidate combines strong technical accounting depth with the ability to partner with senior leadership and help build a more scalable finance function.
Responsibilities:
• Own monthly close, consolidations, and financial reporting
• Lead budgeting, forecasting, and cash-flow analysis
• Oversee accounting operations, reconciliations, AP/AR, and billing
• Prepare management, lender, and investor reporting
• Support M&A diligence and acquisition integration
• Strengthen internal controls and finance processes
• Lead ERP / financial systems initiatives
• Partner closely with executive leadership on financial performance and decision support
Requirements:
• Active CPA
• 8+ years of progressive accounting / finance experience
• Private equity-backed company experience
• Strong Controller / Assistant Controller background
• Strong GAAP, close, consolidation, and reporting experience
• ERP implementation or migration experience
• M&A / acquisition integration exposure
• Strong Excel and analytical skills
• Hands-on, high-ownership leadership style
Preferred Skills:
• NetSuite, Sage Intacct, or similar ERP
• Professional services or multi-entity environment
• Lender / sponsor reporting exposure
• Finance automation and reporting-tool experience
Compensation: $175,000 - $200,000 base plus bonus
Salary is based on a range of factors that include relevant experience, knowledge, skills, other job-related qualifications.
