POSITION SUMMARYWe are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Controller to oversee all financial and accounting activities for Polara Health. The Controller will be responsible for managing financial operations, ensuring accuracy in financial reporting, and maintaining effective internal controls. This role is integral to the company's financial health, ensuring compliance with accounting standards and regulations, and providing leadership to the accounting team.

ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES - Financial Reporting: Prepare and review monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements and reports, ensuring accuracy, compliance with accounting principles, and timeliness.
- Budgeting and Forecasting: Develop and manage budgets, perform financial forecasting, and assist in financial planning to support business objectives.
- Accounting Operations: Oversee day-to-day accounting functions, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, and general ledger maintenance.
- Internal Controls: Implement and maintain strong internal controls to safeguard company assets, ensure accurate financial reporting, and prevent fraud.
- Compliance and Auditing: Ensure compliance with GAAP (Generally Accepted Accounting Principles) and other regulatory requirements. Coordinate with external auditors during audit processes and implement recommendations.
- Cash Flow Management: Monitor cash flow and working capital, optimize liquidity, and support the CFO with financial planning and analysis.
- Team Leadership: Manage, mentor, and develop the accounting team, fostering a culture of collaboration, efficiency, and professional growth.
- Financial Systems & Process Improvement: Evaluate and implement improvements to financial processes and systems to enhance efficiency, accuracy, and reporting capabilities. Implement cost accounting framework that supports multi-facility organization
- Tax Filing and Reporting: Oversee tax filings, ensure timely and accurate submission of tax returns, and manage tax planning strategies.
QUALIFICATIONS 21 years of age or older; or minimum 18 years old and licensed or certified under A.R.S. Title 32 and providing services within the personnel member's scope of practice; or minimum 18 years old for select administrative positions
Must be able to provide or obtain an AZDPS Level One Fingerprint Clearance Card
Must possess and maintain a valid Driver License, current automobile insurance, and a driving record that meets the guidelines and requirements of the organization
- Education: Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
- Experience: Minimum of 5-7 years of experience in accounting or finance, with at least 3 years in a supervisory or management role.
- Technical Skills: Strong knowledge of accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, NetSuite) and advanced proficiency in Excel. Familiarity with ERP systems is a plus.
- Knowledge: In-depth knowledge of GAAP, financial reporting, and regulatory compliance standards.
- Communication Skills: Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to present financial information to non-financial stakeholders.
- Leadership Skills: Proven ability to lead and develop teams, manage projects, and handle multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- Problem-Solving: Strong analytical skills with the ability to identify financial issues and implement effective solutions.
