As a key member of our finance leadership team, the Controller will lead day-to-day accounting operations, ensure the accuracy and integrity of financial reporting, and maintain strong internal controls. Partnering closely with the VP Finance/CFO, this role plays a critical part in financial planning, analysis, and strategic decision-making while supporting the continued growth and operational excellence of the company.

Key Responsibilities
- Lead, manage, and develop the accounting team with a focus on accuracy, accountability, and continuous improvement
- Establish and maintain accounting policies, procedures, and internal controls
- Ensure compliance with audit, tax, and regulatory requirements
- Manage and execute timely monthly, quarterly, and year-end close processes
- Prepare and review financial statements, general ledger activity, and supporting schedules
- Ensure accuracy of job cost reporting, WIP schedules, and cost-to-complete estimates
- Oversee accounts payable, accounts receivable, cash receipts, general ledger, and revenue recognition
- Review and approve accounts payable check runs prepared by AP Manager
- Verify capitalization and depreciation of fixed assets
- Monitor and analyze revenue and expense variances
- Collaborate with external advisors to manage income, business privilege, and other non-payroll tax filings
- Ensure filings and payments are submitted accurately and on a timely basis
- Support insurance renewals by preparing required financial documentation and supplemental schedules
- Collaborate with VP Finance / CFO on banking relationships, treasury functions, and financing activities
Who We're Looking For
- Bachelor's Degree in Finance or Accounting along with 5 years of relevant accounting experience and progressive leadership experience (some public accounting experience preferred).
- Union payroll processing preferred and experience filing multi-state payroll taxes.
- Advanced computer skills in MS Office applications, accounting software and databases (Vista Viewpoint desirable).
- Ability to manipulate large amounts of data with high attention to detail and accuracy.
- Proven knowledge of accounting principles, practices, standards, laws, and regulations.
- Ability to direct and supervise.
- Local to York, Pennsylvania with occasional travel to other offices or offsite meetings (flexibility to work from home when appropriate).
- A "can-do" attitude, strong work ethic, and ability to collaborate effectively with various teams.
