Exciting opportunity at Eastwood Custom Homes in Traverse City for an experienced Controller to join the team. We are in search of a finance professional to oversee critical financial tasks, including budgeting, accounting, reporting, and analysis. Key duties involve ensuring compliance with tax laws, managing internal controls, and preparing for financial audits. Responsibilities
• Research and analyze financial data and prepare reports to present to upper management.
• Monitor and forecast cash flows and prepare budgets as well as regular updates as needed.
• Oversee accounts payable, accounts receivable, contract billing, and payroll processes.
• Create and maintain an accurate WIP, debt schedule, and asset schedule.
• Prepare timely monthly, quarterly, and year-end statements.
• Ensure accurate and timely filing of all necessary tax documents.
• Maintain Subcontractor compliance, prepare for and assist with Workman Comp & General Liability audit.
Qualifications
• Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or a relevant field.
• CPA Certification or comparable qualifications; 2+ years of progressively responsible experience in a public/corporate accounting environment.
• Demonstrated knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP).
• Proficiency in the use of accounting systems (e.g., Sage 300, QuickBooks, etc.).
• Superior analytical, organizational, and communication skills.
