Control Systems Integrator III - Food & BeverageDo you want the opportunity to develop control systems for some of the nation's greatest companies? Would you relish the chance to tackle a problem a customer is having with their manufacturing process and come up with a solution using your passion for automation and controls? If PLC, HMI, and SCADA are normal acronyms in your vocabulary, I invite you to come be a Control Freak with us.
What You Will Be Doing- Plan, design, program and implement PLC/HMI based control systems for food and beverage plants, primarily using Rockwell and Ignition
- Design and build SCADA and MES solutions, including OEE and downtime tracking, track and trace, and ISA-88 batch control
- Own the control system architecture (PLC, SCADA, MES, networks, I/O, and interfaces) and document the key technical decisions
- Write structured, well-documented, bug-free PLC code, and build reusable templates and standard code libraries
- Design intuitive, easy-to-navigate, aesthetically pleasing HMI interfaces
- Act as the technical lead on projects and the primary technical contact for the client
- Break down the technical components of the project and help lead junior level engineers down the right path
- Connect SQL databases to SCADA and reporting so production data reaches operators and managers
- Write sequence of operations (SOO) documents, and lead in-house testing, startup, and commissioning
What You Need for this Position- BS in electrical, mechanical, chemical or related engineering field or relevant experience
- Three to seven years of experience developing PLC controlled SCADA systems, preferably in a project based industry
- At least two years of experience developing PLC programs, HMI screens, and SCADA systems
- Expert PLC programming in ladder logic, function block diagram, and structured text across multiple PLC platforms (Rockwell, Siemens, GE, or Modicon)
- Thorough understanding of at least one major HMI/SCADA platform (Ignition, Wonderware, FactoryTalk View SE, or GE Proficy)
- Experience with MES or OEE systems and a working knowledge of SQL
- Working knowledge of industrial protocols such as EtherNet/IP, Modbus, Profinet, and MQTT
- Comfortable reading and redlining electrical drawings and P&IDs and specifying PLC and I/O hardware
- Food and beverage experience, such as batching, CIP, filling, or packaging lines, is a big plus, as is experience with Sepasoft MES or ISA-88 batch control
- Ignition Gold and Wonderware Certified Developer status, or willing to earn both within your first year
- Strong problem solving and communication skills, and the ability to work independently across multiple projects
- Ability to travel up to 20%
