The Opportunity:

We are seeking an experienced federal contracting professional to provide fullspectrum acquisition and contracting support to Acquisition Management & Integration Center (AMIC) contracting officers onsite at Joint Base San Antonio (JBSA). This position supports government personnel but all work performed is inherently nongovernmental and does not involve the exercise of discretionary government authority.

This role is ideal for a former GS-1102, Contracting Officer, or Contract Specialist who has operated with a limited warrant and is familiar with fastpaced, missiondriven acquisition environments within the Department of Defense or U.S. Military.

As a journeymanlevel Contracting Specialist, you will contribute to endtoend acquisition activitiesfrom planning and market research to contract formation, administration, and closeout. You will be a trusted partner to contracting officers and program teams, ensuring accuracy, compliance, and professionalism throughout the contracting lifecycle.

Responsibilities:

You will deliver professional federal contracting support in collaboration with AMIC contracting officers, including:

  • Acquisition planning, market research, and development of acquisition strategies
  • Drafting and maintaining acquisition and contract documents
  • Conducting cost/price analysis and preparing determinations, justifications, synopses, solicitations, and price negotiation memoranda
  • Reviewing contractor technical and cost proposals and documenting evaluation findings
  • Executing cradletograve contract administration
  • Managing contract writing systems, file documentation, and electronic records
  • Supporting milestone development and ensuring adherence to acquisition timelines
  • Collaborating with contracting officers, Contracting Officers Representatives (COR), program managers, security teams, budget analysts, resource advisors, and engineers
  • Managing contract closeout activities in alignment with government goals
  • Providing analysis, recommendations, alternatives, process improvements, and other products to support mission execution
  • Responding effectively to changing priorities and stringent deadlines



Qualifications:

Required:

  • Active, current DoD TS/SCI clearance
  • More than five (5) years of relevant contracting experience
  • Experience exercising a limited contracting officer warrant of no less than $1M
  • Proficiency in all basic contracting support skills, including: Acquisition planning; Milestone development; Cradletograve contracting; FAR Parts 6, 10, 11, 16, 31, 33, 37; Cost contracts
  • Professional, polished writing skills
