Job Summary
This position is responsible for planning and performing engineering duties as assigned, working independently and with Facility Staff. Reviewing, modifying and approving project specifications of the most complex nature to ensure their conformance to applicable codes and standards and generally accepted industry practices.
This role will pay between $109,000 to $160,000 annually depending upon skills and experience. This role is also eligible for bonus, profit sharing and benefits for the employee and their eligible dependents.
Job Description
Key Accountabilities:
• Understanding the design features of the facility and performing the overall engineering control and/or oversight of all design changes and modifications.
• Perform complex root cause analyses.
• Assisting the Maintenance Manager in planning major outages.
• Managing revisions to plant technical documentation and drawings.
• Developing the annual budget for engineering and design support and modification activities.
• Responsible for assisting in the development of other employees in area of expertise.
• Serves a lead role on projects, teams, processes, or programs.
• Respond quickly to plant conditions or requirements which may involve extended abnormal work hours.
• Experience or background in the use of personal computers and numerous software applications.
• Reporting to NERC.
• Maintaining high professional, personnel and equipment safety and
environmental consciousness and compliance standards and practices.
Education, Experience & Skill Requirements:
• BS or greater in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering from a college or university with an accredited engineering program. Post graduate degree is desirable.
• Registered Professional Engineer is desirable.
• Minimum of 14 years of experience
• Licensed Professional Engineer or meets additional years of experience requirements
• Extensive experience with gas fired combined cycle power plant mechanical and electrical systems
• Communication -Must be able to effectively communicate with peers, management and/or represent Vistra's interests to outside agencies
Key Metrics:
• Industry contributor in field of expertise to represent Vistra interests and increase knowledge of new technologies
• Provides technical support on a fleetwide basis
• Maintain effective working relationships. Be able to provide technical direction
