What You Will Do:You will support a Federal Agency by providing budget, acquisition, and data analytics support that helps leadership make informed decisions and improve business operations. In this role, you will gather, analyze, and present acquisition and budget data while supporting a range of budget execution activities. A significant portion of this role will focus on supporting the agency's budget execution process, including tracking funding, monitoring spending activities, supporting financial operations, and providing data and analysis to inform resource management decisions. You will work closely with federal stakeholders to develop data-driven insights, improve operational processes, and support initiatives that advance organizational modernization and efficiency.
- Gather, analyze, and present acquisition, budget, and financial data to support decision-making.
- Support budget execution activities, including purchase card management, year-end closeout, budget planning, payroll support, and related financial operations.
- Develop reports, dashboards, and data visualizations to communicate findings and recommendations.
- Support acquisition and business process improvement initiatives.
- Coordinate with federal stakeholders to collect information, track action items, and support project objectives.
- Prepare written deliverables, briefings, and presentations for client leadership.
- Manage multiple priorities and deadlines while delivering high-quality work products.
- Identify opportunities to improve data quality, reporting effectiveness, and operational efficiencies.
- Support organizational modernization efforts through data-driven analysis and strategic recommendations.
What You Will Need:We are seeking a motivated professional with strong analytical, communication, and organizational skills. The ideal candidate can work independently, build effective client relationships, and translate complex information into actionable insights while maintaining a high level of attention to detail.
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Management, or equivalent work or military experience.
- Minimum of 2 years of professional experience doing budget planning and execution.
- Ability to identify and address client needs by building strong relationships with clients, developing an awareness of firm services, communicating with clients in an organized and knowledgeable manner, delivering clear requests for information, demonstrating flexibility in prioritizing and completing tasks, and communicating potential conflicts to supervisors.
- Ability to work independently on assigned tasks while meeting project requirements and deadlines.
- Ability to assist in the development of client deliverables and support solution methods prescribed by supervisors and managers.
- Proficiency with Microsoft SharePoint, Teams, Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
- Excellent writing, editing, and proofreading skills.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage competing priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- Ability to obtain a Public Trust Clearance (i.e. US Citizenship required)
What Would Be Nice To Have:Candidates with experience supporting federal financial management, acquisitions, or data analytics programs will be especially well-positioned for success. Additional experience with process improvement, reporting and visualization tools, and cross-functional collaboration in a federal environment is highly desirable.
- Prior experience supporting federal acquisition efforts, ideally across the full contract lifecycle.
- Understanding of the Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR).
- Understanding of the annual federal budget formulation and execution process.
- Ability to work alongside software developers and gather requirements from clients, translate requirements into system functionality, and collaborate with development teams to implement solutions.
- Project Management Professional (PMP) or Certified Associate in Project Management (CAPM) certification.
- SharePoint administration, management, or development experience.
- Experience with Tableau, Microsoft Power BI, Visio, and JIRA.
- Knowledge of data analytics and data visualization techniques.
- Experience supporting financial management, budget execution, acquisition modernization, or business transformation initiatives within the federal government.
